Guitar practice for beginners

avatar
(Edited)

These are some of the best guitar practice methods for beginners and as I have just come back to the guitar after many years. I am learning using the methods that I know work the best.
Practicing every day is really the only way to make progress so you have to commit some time and space to get on with it.

Here I show three simple finger styles that you can use all using just one chord shape and a lot of patience.

Finally you get to hear how the Kay G101 guitar sounds like in a few musical styles.

Hehe - thank you very much.
Glad I made you laugh, always good when that happens :)
I haven't listened to the whole video yet (just until my mention), but I'll come back later.
Great stuff!

Ha ha you crack me up. I haven't forgotten about the little chat we had about reggaesteem and jahm
I am a bit of a reggae nut and will be getting around to playing some tunes soon. Good to see you are getting some stuff onto the @steemitworldmap.

I am currently not planning to learn playing on the guitar, but probably many people will find your video useful/helpful. You can play very nicely. I like the sounds of the Kay G101 guitar. Thank you for the educational video! Have a nice day! All the best!

Yeah, nothing beats practice. I get quite marked by those learn in ten days videos and courses. Twoddle! Your guitar is sounding very nice!

Thanks @meesterboom I have a lot of practice to catch up on lol. Those 'learn guitar in 10 days' jokers are either delusional misguided or snake oil salesmen. Anything worth learning takes time but these guys are pandering to the short attention span of so many people these days.

There are no short cuts.

I'm so chuffed with the old Kay guitar. It came up a treat and it sounds great.

That's it right there, there are no short cuts. I am trying to get back in to it all and the amount of stuff I can no longer play or remember is huge. But I am game for giving it a try!

Good for you. Go for it. I haven't played for almost 30 years but the muscle memory is still there and I find myself trying to play much faster than my hands can cope with? It is coming back though super fast and it is a real joy to be playing again.

I can't believe I stopped for so long? WTF was I thinking? Life happened? 'shrugs shoulders' lol

That bloody life!!

I was watching your malguena video just there and I was thinking, hey, I used to be able to play that, more I just have to wait till the kids are in bed and give it a bash. Muscle memory is an amazing thing!
