Vinyl and Piano

It was raining cats and dogs and finally the weather started to cool off a bit. Better said, it almost looked super sad while looking outside and it was even kind of nice having just a silent moment after the heat from the last couple of weeks. I decided to put on one of the records of Ludovico Einaudi ‘Seven days walking’ and then the day 1 album. This whole album is chopped into 7 pieces and it is just lovely piano music. I am beginning to like piano music way more lately. Call it age, call it wisdom, fact is I like it. Most people know Einaudi from putting his music into the ‘Intouchables’ movie, which a lot of people spoke highly of, because of its soundtrack.

Ludovico Einaudi was even scheduled to play in our city a while back in a church, which seemed like the most awesome setting to get every feature of the music coming really out as strong as you would actually want it. Churches are not my most favorite hangout since I mostly only come there while attending funerals, so getting a better vibe in churches in combination with fantastic music just seemed like the bomb. But you know…covid-19 and so, so yes cancelled. But hey, maybe we will get a second chance to it whenever all of this is over.

Once before I was already mentioning on how much love there is for vinyl and with the little squeaks and cracks from the record this piano music is even getting more character in there. So sometimes when you really sit and take a moment of your time, that is when you should put on vinyl versus Spotify. Because you need to turn your record every so often, it is like actively listening to it. The morning was over soon, and before I knew it I had to drag my ass to work, but I wasn’t finished listening.

But when I came to work and I walked into a perfectly calm operating theatre, I heard again ‘Seven days Walking’ playing as background music. For a fairly unknown artist in modern music land, this is quite unusual. Call it luck, call it fate. I will just call it pleasant.

Ludovico Einaudi's music is a salve for the soul. Soothing and healing which is needed now. Especially for all front line workers. Your nerves must be on edge after the many long hours working with the Covid. I know when my nerves are on edge I like to sit back in a quiet corner with a nice glass of wine or perhaps some homemade brandy and just chill listening to soft music...

Einaudi unknown!?😅 But I do agree his music is so perfect 😍

But I hope you got to see him again in November while he's playing in Rotterdam and Eindhoven but the best shows will be played in Milan! Teatro Dal Verme is such a beauty😍

Did you bought some new vinyl during the last Recordstoreday #Loveyourlocalrecordstore? I've bought some beauties🤗
