I figured I would take a break, only

Track 7, Twinkly Melody
for a day, from the 4 part series, of which I shared 2 parts. This was a song idea from the same night that I started 'Rechain', and one that I really like, so I'll probably wind up doing a multi part series with this too. I actually have already done 3 versions of it, but frankly, I wasn't particularly happy with the last one, so I'm abandoning that, and starting here, with the '2nd' version, though really its identical to the first, just with some volume level fixes so it is listenable. I started this with Track 1, which was a synth sound, recorded into audio, which, after a bunch of effects, wound up turning into the sort of hissing noise that you hear at the beginning. I have left it in, as it was the basis for the track, but I think I might replace it with something more tonal. Next up, we have the drum tracks, which consist of Track 2 for the kicks, and Tracks 3 and 4 for the other percussion sounds, which sort of take the place of hi-hats/snares/cymbals. In the 3rd attempt, I added an actual snare, but it didn't work like I hope, so I may try and find an alternative.

Track 5, Synth Bass

Listen to Squoozle here...

Track 5 is up next, which adds the bass line pictured

Track 10, Arp. Synth
above, which worked well with the drums. It cuts through at the right spots, and fills in the mid-lows nicely. Track 6 adds another synth layer, which follows our basic progression (Dmin, Gmin, Bb, and C). Track 7 adds the twinkly melody, which I need to record to an audio track, and transpose some of the delayed notes; this synth plays a 3rd up from the note you play in the delay tail, which doesn't work at certain points, adding non diatonic notes. Track 8 adds some 5ths, which use the same Gliding Pulse synth from Iris2 that is the basis of 'Rechain'. Track 9 is an arp. synth, used only at the end of each 8 bar section to provide a transition into the next part. Track 10 is a second arp. synth, which is used at the beginning of each bar, outlining the chords, along with some passing tones to fill things in some more. This track really started to make the song interesting, in my opinion. Track 11 only comes in on the 1st beat of each 8 bar section, and slowly fades out, adding a high-pitched D. Track 12 adds a very ambient pad sound, which fills things in some more, and adds some further layers of harmony, and finally, we have Track 13, which only comes in over one section, also using that Iris2 synth but playing a bit of a lead line.
