but after adding some random synth sounds, all from various Arturia demos, it wound up being pretty cool, and something I'd like to revisit at some point to really dive into. As you can see above, there are almost no MIDI clips to screenshot, outside of Track 1, pictured below, which uses 'Vital', an awesome, totally free synth plug-in. Track 2 is the bass synth, which just moves between a C and F (we're in C major). There is a part where the Frequency gets cranked, when all the instruments play, providing a more distorted, heavy 'Chorus' of sorts. Track 3 was actually where I had started; this was a sound from the Matrix-12, which was basically just a random line of various 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16th notes, all playing C. I added the 'Random' MIDI effect, along with the 'Scale' effect; instead of just outlining a scale, I assigned each of the 12 notes in the octave to random notes in C major, so it jumps all over the place, mostly sticking to notes in Cmaj7, though there are some D's throughout, adding 2nds and 9ths. The last 4 tracks help outline the same progression, C (Cmaj7 at times) to Fmaj7, using various different timbres and plug-ins. Overall, I like this idea quite a bit, despite the super simple progression, so we'll see where it goes in a day or two.
