'Phlox' - New Original Music - A Creation From Last Night, Half of Which I Like, Half is Goofy - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough
So this was a random little creation
from last night, which is made up of 2 parts, one of which I like and am definitely going to work with to create something more complete, the other of which is total nonsense, and was mostly just an attempt to try out some effects. In the overview above, you can see the two sections, starting with A (the good part), then B (the bad one), A, B, and ending with A. I'll start with the tracks that are in both sections, which are just the drums, Tracks 4 and 5. The weird hi-hat sounds sounded a bit too clicky, but turned out to be interesting over the A section. In the B section, they are much more sparse, which I'm going to keep, just everything else around it will be replaced with some other ideas which thus far don't exist. Tracks 1, 2 and 3 are only in the B part, and were going to be an attempt at a sort of dissonant line, but I wound up abandoning it after I realized the A section was a lot cooler.
Track 7, Bass, A Section, Ableton Wavetable Synth
Listen to Phlox here...
Tracks 6 and 7 are both from Ableton's Wavetable synths
with Track 6 adding the single note swells over the 2nd and 3rd A sections, and Track 7 the distorted bass, which I particularly like. I think these definitely need some layers, as its sparse right now, but maybe not too much, as I like the sound of the A parts thus far. Of course, they definitely need some effects, EQs, etc., but for a rough draft, I think its a good start. Track 8 was an addition over the B parts, which again, will be abandoned, though I like the timbre of this synth, so I'll try and find a way to incorporate it in some other way. Finally, we have 3 little audio clips which were just used for transitions. I like these, so I'll try and keep them, depending on what I replace those B parts with. I'll sit down tonight and see what happens with this; hopefully, I'll have a more interesting, coherent idea to share tomorrow!
Enjoy the tune thus far, at least the A part, haha!
