This may not be a particularly

The ROLI Seaboard Block
long post, as all of the tracks were bounced to audio and I don't remember the specific instruments used. However, this was the first I recorded using the actual ROLI Seaboard Block with the ROLI sounds I've been using a lot lately in quite a while. I often write away from my music space with my laptop, but figured it's time I start using the keyboards again, as they're so much fun, and you can do so much that is impossible with them. Almost all of the sounds in these ROLI libraries have two versions, one that plays on a normal MIDI keyboard, and a '5D' version that can utilize all the ways of playing the Seaboard, like sliding up and down in pitch, vibrato, soft to hard touch (which can effect all kinds of parameters), and sliding up and down on the keys (can swell or decrease other parameters). I did that hear, with the first two tracks, starting at the bottom: Tracks 6 and 5. These just slide from a C to a G and back again, though the bass part slides down to a lower G the second time around each repetition. Tracks 5 and 2 both add a little plucky melody, with two different instruments; these both use the touch velocity to get some variation in the sound. Track 3 adds another line in between those, with a more distorted, spacey synth sound, also using varying velocities. Finally we have Track 1, which just adds some background swells and slides.

The '5D' Synths Allow Full Use of the Seaboard

I'll definitely share more as I'm going to be using the Seaboard a lot more often. Hope you dig it!
