This is definitely not a real song idea,

and wasn't really mixed or anything, but I figured it would be an interesting topic considering how I got all the sounds used. Recently, I found out about 'Arcade', a tool from the brand Output, which is essentially a massive library of loops (and sounds), which costs $10 a month for access to everything. Lots of brands work with Arcade, including Spitfire Audio, which is where I heard about it. Essentially, companies and musicians create packs, which are made up of various loops/individual sounds (usually loops though), along with some effects and tweaks, all of which can be accessed from a basic menu, as pictured below. You play a white key, and it plays the loops. Black keys are used for effects, like reverse, or loop repeat, a low-pass filter, etc., which is a cool idea, since you can perform with the effects as well.

Each pack has an option to edit the key, just transposing

the loops automatically. You can edit every single individual loop on each white key, using the menu pictured to the left here, to create whatever you want essentially. My only real beef is that every drum kit is made up of loops, instead of individual drum hits that you can play with the keys like anyone who has a DAW is used to doing. You have to go in and edit each loop to create single hits, which you can then play in this way. If you like using a lot of loops, its definitely an awesome tool, but for me, it's a lot of work to get single hits. However, there are lots of other things besides drums available, and some of them sound incredible. In this 'song', I just chose a few loops/sounds from the 'Modular Circuitry' set. I was mostly curious what they sounded like without effects/mixing, on various sound systems, and generally think its pretty cool. I don't know if I'll continue with a subscription after the free month, but I'm going to keep using it in the mean time and see what I can discover.
