I decided to do a short little

EQ Eight, Track 3
timed challenge last night, giving myself ten minutes, and this is the result. I'm not sure if I love the sound right now, but I like the strange chord progressions, and how dark they are, and I think with some tweaking (particularly on the mix generally), this could become really cool. I spent about 4 minutes setting up the drums, which are really basic: just a kick on the 1 and 3, hi-hats on the 1/8th note upbeats, and snares on the 2 and 4. There is also a little audio clip (Track 7) in which the hihats slowly bend down in pitch and volume, as a sort of transition. Not sure how much I love this, but I needed something over the quieter section, and with limited time, this is the result. The first 3 tracks is where the meat of the tune is, so let's get into that.

Tracks 1 and 2, Chord Progression.

Listen to Minersound here.

Tracks 1 and 3 provide the chords, which are divided into two

Strobe2 Arpeggiator, Track 3
sections, in Red and Blue. In the Red, we begin on what I originally intended to be a Cmin7add9, but wound up working instead as a GminAdd11, moving to an Emin b13, and finally C#min7. This repeats 2x, before holding out a high E over the quieter parts, which becomes an Esus2, before repeating the whole thing. The Blue section begins on an AminAdd9, to an F6, CaugAdd9 (for 2 bars), then back to AminAdd9, F6, Cmaj7 and finally D7, which leads back to the Gmin in the Red. Track 2 provides a bassline, which sticks mostly to root notes, which is pictured below (for the A/Red section). It's a little two distorted, which cut into the synths in Tracks 1 and 3, but what can I say? 10 minutes requires you to do something and just move on, hoping it works, haha.

Track 2, Bass Line

Kind of a random creation, but there are some ideas I like, so maybe they'll make their way into a more complete song!
