I forgot to share this the other night,

Track 4, Heavy Bass
as I had a couple ideas from that evening, but I like the idea, and think with some actual work, this could become a legit tune. It's definitely just a rough idea right now, and consists of two parts, repeating back and forth. Viewed via Track 1, we have the A part in Light Blue (which is basically the same progression, repeated 2x), and the B part in the darker, Navy Blue (which is 2 bars, different from each other). The A part has an interesting progression, beginning on a Gminor, down to the Vi (Eb), then up to a Gmajor, and a C5 in the final bar. The Gmajor resolve after the Vi turned out to be pretty cool, and sort of unexpected, but I think the 'melody' line on top is the most interesting part. As you can see in the screenshot below, it adds some dissonances over both G chords, and over the Gmaj, holds a bVii so we don't really get the full resolve until halfway through that bar. This actually was accidental, I shifted the line over by a 1/2 note, but it turned out to be a really cool change. Track 2 uses the 'African Congalog' from Equator, which provides a nice percussive, but still harmonic, vibe.

Track 3 adds a LABS 'Piano Pad', which just further builds

Track 8, Bell Melody
on the chords. Track 4 is the bass part, which adds that heavy synth bass. Tracks 5 and 7 both play Track 1's melody line, only over the A part, to accent that in the heavier, fuller sections. Tracks 6 and 8 are only used over the fuller B parts, with Track 6 adding a rhythmic wavetable synth, and Track 8 the little bell melody, pictured to the left. I like almost all of the bell part, though the descending chromatic part feels a little out of place, so I'd like to change that. Finally, we have Track 9, which is just used to accent the 1st beat of each of the ending A parts, with a heavy synth stab. Overall, I really like the general vibe, particularly how the A part is a bit more intense, then things lighten up a little through the B section, before picking back up again. I think if I cut down the intro, and added a bridge, this could be really great. I was considering adding some drums, but I kind of like the synth-only sound, and I think all of these instruments work really well to fill things out.

Enjoy the song idea, and thanks for listening!
