I spent some time with the idea

Track 13, High Pitched Strings, w/o 4th Bar
from yesterday, and wound up extending the length of the song, adding a break, and fixing a bunch of the levels, though I still need to change some things. I wound up doubling the glitchy, loud ROLI snare sound with an actual snare from a 909 Drum Kit, in Track 6. It isn't super obvious, but seemed to help make the snare feel a little less washy. I dropped the volume on both of these, though I think the ROLI snare is still too loud. I also dropped the volume on the kick, and then gave the bass synth (Track 7) a high-end boost, which I think worked okay. But, I decided to record the full bass track into audio, then bumped that up a whole octave, and turned the 'Formants' setting to 0. This created a really cool higher pitched version of the bass, which I hi-pass'ed, and this definitely helped to bring the actual progression of the bass out more, as it was just so low-end heavy before.

Track 26 (25 also seen, greyed out), Used in the Break

Listen to Host (3) here...

As you can see in the overview screenshot, I grouped

Track 25, Second Break Instrument
together a lot of things, like the drums, the 'Verse' synths, the background stuff, transitions, etc. You can also see that Track 13, the high pitched strings, now has some parts where it takes a break, then comes back in, which helped to give this a little dynamic change, despite being pretty consistently loud and intense, hehe. The break is the one new section; the drums here are basically the same, except for the ROLI synth drops out entirely, and just the 909 snares are played. They aren't nearly as obvious as the ROLI, but add some extra percussiveness that helps it to feel a bit different than the stuff around it. Tracks 24 and 25 are grouped together at the bottom, and play over the break. These were basically placeholders, and I don't love the first part of the progression. The second half (when the bass comes back in) is fine, but I want to find something more interesting to happen at the beginning. I'll keep playing around with this, and update accordingly!

Hope you enjoy!
