I didn't really have any particularly

Effects chain for snares, Track 3
interesting song ideas to work on last night, so I figured a timed challenge (or exercise) would be fun, and this is the result. I actually think there are some cool things here, though also a few things I don't love. The intro wasn't intended to be in the track at all, I accidentally highlighted it when exporting, so the real 'song' starts after that. Tracks 1, 2 and 3 provide all the drums, though I must have accidentally removed the volume automation on Track 2, because the kicks are a little weaker than when I was listening to it, so I'll have to fix that if I want to expand this into a real tune. Track 2 provides the snares, which are pretty heavily effected, and wound up sounding pretty cool. Track 4 is the 'hats', though its actually just some weird clicky sounds I found in a library of samples I've never really delved into before. I don't dislike them, though I think they could be beefed up a bit, as they aren't super obvious now.

Track 7, Chords, Reversed in Track 8

Listen to Ensnare here...

Track 5 is the bass synth, which I made in Serum, then

Track 11, Equator Woodblock Synth
bounced to audio, so I wouldn't lose it when the Serum demo ended, haha. The basic progression here is just Emin for 4 bars, C for 2, Amin for 1 and Bmin for 1, then repeat, and the bass sticks mostly to chord tones, though the warp effect on it shifts quite a bit, so it has some interesting timbres throughout. Tracks 7 and 8 are grouped together, and both play the same thing; Track 7 plays the chords as mapped out, and Track 8 just plays them in reverse, which wound up being a cool effect. Track 9 provides a bell-like line, which I was also a Serum synth. Track 10 was a random sample, which I don't think I love, and will probably be removed. I used the beat transient setting at 1/8th so it is chopped up almost completely, but probably should've just removed it. Track 11 is a woodblock sort of synth sound, which plays the little line pictured to the left here. Finally, we have Track 12, which was recorded from an Iris2 synth. I tried to warp it a bit to get it to fit a bit better, but ran out of time, so maybe I'll try the beat transient effect on this too, and see if I like that.
