'Clunk' - New Original Music - Another Random Idea - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough

from last night, using a couple of new instruments I downloaded from PianoBook. It's definitely not amazing, but there are some ideas here I like, and a number that need to be removed, or edited in some way. I started with Track 2, which uses the 'Cassette Moods' instrument from PianoBook in DecentSampler. It plays the line pictured to the right here. Track 6 was actually next, which was recorded from PianoTeq7, and plays a bass part, moving from D, Bb, A and to Ab, before going to the next section. Tracks 3, 4 and 5 are all recorded from the same percussion loop, which was originally another PianoBook instrument which is a bunch of different little wood hits, claps, scrapes and other random percussion. I pitched it down an octave, doubling it in length, then added two different Portal effects, recording those in Tracks 4 and 5. I like these, though I think there needs to be some other percussion, particularly kicks/toms or something low and heavy.

of the textural pads, and the second one of the 'Organic Textures'. These play the parts pictured above, which are used over the B sections. I like them, generally, but I'm not sure how much I love the two parts together, so I may rewrite one or both. Track 9 is the twinkly, plucky melody that plays over the 2nd half of the A sections. Track 10 is another of sound like 9, but playing over the B section, and just in the background. Finally we have Track 10 which is a bass part, which I dislike. It definitely doesn't fit with the more floaty vibe of the other instruments, so that'll go. I'll play around with this, and see if I can't find a way to make it a cooler more interesting tune.
