This wasn't going to be a song,

Track 6, 'Hybrid Keys' w/ Glitchy Portal Effect
as I was just playing around with some sounds, but I really liked the drums, so I just started layering things. I think there are some cool ideas here, and some that definitely need to go, so I'll take this and spend some time with it, hopefully turn it into something more interesting. I started with the LABS Percussion sounds, to which I added some Raum reverb, the Valhalla Supermassive Delay/Reverb, and Portal. I recorded that little pattern to audio in Track 3, then pitched it down an octave, also doubling the length and slowing it down by half. This still is my favorite part of all of this, and I may just try and start something entirely new, only keeping this track and see where it goes. Track 4 is a SUPER bassy synth, which mostly just plays D's (we're in Dminor), and is probably a little too muddy, but I think with some tweaking and effecting, it could work better. I was sort of imagining a really spacey, almost meterless idea, just using D min pentatonic notes, but clearly that didn't happen here, so that may be what happens on the next attempt. Track 2 was a ride cymbal from the LABS percussion set, which definitely isn't going to make the cut. I was experimenting with Portal, and other delays, to try and make it not feel like an actual cymbal pattern, though I didn't like the results. I left the original pattern here, but it'll definitely be changed if not removed entirely.

Track 5, ROLI Synth

Listen to Bubbledrum here...

Track 5 is a keyboard sound from ROLI, which plays the

Tracks 7 (Yellow) and 8 (Brown), Extra Sounds
chords pictured above. This was part of that original pentatonic idea, and may or may not be something I keep. I think maybe if a different instrument played this, or some variation, it might fit, but we'll see what happens. Tracks 6 started as a really basic single note line, but with some effects became a weird, glitchy melody of starts. I imagine I'll keep this, though it may go through some changes. Tracks 7 and 8 are both used pretty sparsely, just to add some other textures at certain points. I think I'll try and find some more sounds like this, and stagger them randomly, so no one section ever is an exact repeat of anything before or after it. Track 9 is almost not audible, though it plays a little triplet thing, first on a D, then down to a C, back and forth. This may or may not make the cut, we'll see if I can find a way to make it a little more obvious, or at least noticeable. I'll work on this tonight, and see if I can't have more of a 'song' idea to share tomorrow!
