I worked on this tune a bit more

EQ and Compressor for Track 12, Bass Synth
last night, and am much closer to a finished version, at least as far as instrumentation and arrangement, though I am thinking I'll cut out the current fade out, and add some sort of different, heavier outro at the end, just so we have something different. There are only 2 parts the whole song, though I think the variation between the A parts helps break things up a bit, but it could use a little more change, and having an outro that is a whole new section would be an interesting direction. I edited a lot of the volume levels, so it's much less quiet, and doubled the bass, which really made a big difference. The new bass synth doubles Track 5 in the B parts, but also plays alone over the A parts (a very sparse line), which really helped connect the two sections.

Track 12, New Bass Synth, Over A Part

Listen to b7³ here.

I also added two tracks after Track 12, both of which are for

Track 14, Nerve Hi-Hats
the rhythm section, providing a new snare and hihat part. Over the A parts, I really disliked the reverby snare (which is the same snare as the B parts, just without the ping-pong and filter echo), so I added a little 16th note snare part from a CR78 snare (Track 13), which descends in velocity to give it a pseudo-delay effect. This hits on top of each of the original snare hits, which really helped fill things out and make them sound less strange and obvious. Finally, we have Track 15, which is an audio clip of a hi-hat rhythm from the Nerve Demo I've used a few times. I really like the hi-hats on the one of the kits in Nerve, and it works really well here. Volume-wise, it's in the background, though it mixed perfectly with the original, much sparser hi-hat rhythm, creating a nice little groove.

Hope you like the additions! I think tonight will be the final session, so we'll se what comes of it!
