'Ableyars' - New Original Music - Song Idea/Playing w/ Various Ableton Tools + Techniques - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough

This started out as a session

wherein I would just experiment with some ideas, effects, and techniques in Ableton, but I wound up liking the theme, so I figured I'd share it in this stage, and as I work more, keep updating with more and more of a 'real' song. As of now, its definitely short, and consists of two parts that just repeat, one after the other, but I'm definitely going to add in some new things, cut other parts, etc.

There are definitely A LOT more

tracks on this track than others I share (specifically the timed challenges, which are generally pretty limited). I wanted to double up on certain things, combining sounds to create a bass part, leads, etc. so there's a lot going on. Tracks 1 and 2 provide the bass, in which I tweaked the pitch at certain points, to get those slides up and down, which turned out pretty great. The next 6 tracks are drums, some of which are just basic drum kits, and others audio clips of parts of those drums, which are chopped up, warped, etc. Track 12 is also a drum track, doubling the 1/16th note snare rhythm with a weird metallic sort of sample.

Tracks 10 and 11 provide the

'chords' in the heavier parts, with Track 10 adding the super glitchy portion. I just recorded a double of Track 11, and chopped it up at points, sped up, and slowed down other parts, and generally just glitched it out. Tracks 13 and 14 add some more synth parts, with some plucky arpeggios. Track 15 is another layer, just a single note held out, then pitch bent to fit with the progression. Tracks 16, 18 and 19 are all used for transitions, and accenting the 1st part of certain parts. Finally, we have the 'lead' line in Track 17, which I like the timbre of, but not the melody itself, so that'll change.
