CHERYM's latest single "Weird Ones": Power Pop Punk at its finest

avatar

Blistering guitars, razor sharp timing and immaculate vocals are just a few phrases one could use to describe the latest release from the grunge-pop/pop-punk trio Cherym.

Freakin' awesome could be another.

From the introduction's slow swelling feedback to the song's abrupt arena rock style ending, Weird Ones is a radio friendly foray of female badass-ness.

Feeding off the musical foundations of all female pop-punk predecessors like The Runaways, The Go-Gos , L7 and The Donnas, Cherym reminds us of what an "in your face" rock-n-roll band is all about; play it loud, play it hard, have fun and take no prisoners!

Cherym

Spawn from a love of Garage Rock, Pop Punk and a desire to be the biggest band in the world, Cherym's 2018 self-released debut EP 'Mouthbreatherz' racked up over 20,000 organic streams and garnered them fans all over Ireland. Their single ‘Abigail’ received both DSP editorial and National radio play from BBC Introducing, where it debuted on Huw Stephens’ show. In February, the band embarked on a series of dates with ‘Yonaka’, including a sold-out show at The Grand Social in Dublin. Weird Ones is the bands latest release and establishes this female power-trio as definite ones to watch in 2020.
