Bangers for Steemit Week 16

What's up, you bunch of sweet baby boi's. Got another week of songs that'll make you pucker your asshole and twist your nipples. Though, let me give a special shout out to Spotify/Google Play for giving me nothing but absolute fucking trash in my recommendations, making me have to scour the internet myself to gather new music to listen to. Treating me like I'm some sort of neo-neanderthal. Regardless of that, I have a handful of tracks that will have you wagging your fingers in the air like it's the 1960's in no time. Unless you're a K-pop stan, then you'll probably just be on Twitter screaming about how you wish you could lick the toilet seat of your favorite performer. Anyways, lets just get into the music.

1. Tallah: Red Light

This track is probably my favorite one of this week, while also being the most strange track. I'm not exactly sure what I would classify this under for genre. This track and the band in general have influences stemming from hardcore, nu metal, deathcore and theatrical prog tossed in for good measure. This probably won't be for everyone, but I personally think this shit fucking bops. The vocalist's range throughout the song makes me think of someone like Mike Patton, and the instruments have a nice throwback sound to the hardcore scene of the early 2000's. Definitely a big recommendation from me.

2. Essence: Blood Culture

This band is one of the very few modern thrash metal bands that I think is enjoyable to listen to. I've typically found that newer thrash bands usually are about as likable as watching someone run over your family with a car while butt chugging a PBR. But, hey, that's just me. Either way, these guys provide some really fun riffs with a bass player whose actually showcased and talented. I enjoy the vocalist quite a bit, as he gives me Tom Araya vibes if he was a Scandinavian. Sadly, this band broke apart a couple years back, so they won't be putting out any new tunes. However, I definitely recommend this track as well as their other stuff from around this time.

3. Viscera: Lamb to the Slaughter

This song is certainly the heaviest one on the playlist this week. This band would probably be classified under the tech death banner, though there's definitely some djent/deathcore influences here as well (Could argue there's a tinge of symphonic influence as well if you wanted to). These guys remind me a bit of Within The Ruins, which is a good thing as I used to spread my cheeks in the mirror to that band all the time when I was a sweet baby boi. Overall, the musicianship in this band is very solid and I really enjoy this shit. My only issue with this band after listening to them for a little while is I think the mixing could have been done a little better. Otherwise, this is a big recommend from me, doooood.

4. From First to Last: Straight to the Face

This is a band I definitely would have never seen myself recommending to people if you were to ask me about them 10 years ago. I never got into this band back when they were super popular, as I just wasn't a fan of the vocals and lyrics. If you're unaware, this shit was super popular with emo/scene people back in the mid 2000's. However, after they got back together and made this album with a new vocalists, I can say I was pleasantly surprised. Though, of course, they have fucking Spencer from Periphery doing that role. Seriously, he is almost like the herpes of the music industry, except much more pleasant. Anyways, this time around I'd say there's more of a focus on the hardcore side of the band than the emo side. While the vocals are heaps better, the lyrics are also way better than in the past, and the musicianship is solid as fuck to boot. If you want something lighter to listen to while also still being fairly hardcore, this is your jam.

Well, there's another god damn week written out. Hopefully you found a few songs that are your cup of cum. I might take a break for a bit with this series in the near future, or at least make it something I just post once or twice a month at most. As long as everything goes right, I should be having the spare funds here soon to pick up a new guitar so I can start recording my own stuff and focusing some time into making music. There's even talks of doing a doo wop deathcore band with some of my buddies, even though I'm sure that could easily turn into an absolute fucking dumpster fire. But, hey, might as well give it a shot. So, yeah. I'll probably start posting some random riffs or songs I've made once a week in place of this, and dial these back a little bit. We'll see what happens I guess, need to not jinx myself on being able to scoop up a new guitar first, I suppose.

So, until next time you filthy turbo virgins.

Later.
