Superbad: The movie that put Mclovin on the history books

Simple plots that stand out for having fun moments full of entertainment and real situations that allow us to connect with the characters to make a simile with our lives and finally have a good time, for me those are the basic elements of a good comedy, after all when we see a comedy we just want to laugh, so we don't need super complicated plots or filled with clichés and stupid moments. A film that I certainly love and that has all those elements is Superbad, a simple film but like certain peculiar elements that make it extremely funny.

The film tells us about the crazy adventures that a trio of young misfits lived after being invited to a party to which they committed to carrying alcohol despite being underage. All this lets us see a number of situations that are originated from this trio of young people trying in different ways to get the alcohol they promised to a group of beautiful girls. In this movie, there is no specific central plot that leads the script or makes it go one way, here we have a lot of complex situations that come together to create a great fun atmosphere where madness is the main ingredient.

What does happen in this movie is that the plot is divided into two main paths, on the one hand we have the adventures and challenges that Evan and Seth had to face to try to get alcohol in all the absurd ways possible after they could not buy it smuggled and on the other hand the super fun moments that Fogell AKA Mclovin experienced while he was riding the streets with his two new cop friends who made him go through all kinds of eccentricities and fun moments where control was certainly not part of their job as cops.

The whole movie is developed in a wonderful way through a combination of scenes and situations where we can see one of the craziest nights I've ever seen in any movie, and it's really incredible how the simple fact of getting alcohol illegally could escalate to dangerous, crazy and intense moments full of fun for those who see them from the screen. No scene feels superficial and much less silly, yes, there are silly situations, but they are constructed with so much care that they become extremely amusing. This is a movie that quickly became addictive for me, I have seen it dozens of times and I still have fun as if I had seen it for the first time, a comic, funny and somewhat silly film that it manages to capture the name Mclovin in the history of cinema making almost everyone knows where it comes from and what it refers to.

No doubt this is one of the funniest comedy films because it transmits something that is almost not seen in today's movies and is the simple but well done comedy, the comedy that is dedicated to amuse and not mock the facts through its characters, here we have characters that are somewhat silly but have too much fun because of the situation in which they are involved, situations that offer us all kinds of emotions and feelings, but where comedy predominates and where laughter is always present.

I highly recommend this film if you want to have fun with something retro, simple and well done that focuses on making you laugh and nothing else, here there are no dramatic twists, here everything is focused on fun.

I just rewatched this a couple months ago and it's still pretty hilarious. Have you seen Booksmart? A lot of reviewers were referring to it as a female version of Superbad, which is a good but limited comparison. I highly recommend it. It just came out on DVD last month.
