And she's off!

Her crawling was never really a milestone I looked forward to. While Hubby was looking forward to holding her hand and walking together all I could think of was the eventual baby proofing of everything that came with this stage and all the cleaning that now had to be done on the regular. And the chasing after.. And all the heart palpitations... 🤦🏻‍♀️

That said, she's totes adorable shuffling along like that.

As much as I want to protect her and cushion her fall (cos lord knows she screams bloody murder when she hits her face on something) I'm fast getting to the point where I need to let her be and experience things mainly so that she could learn how to not fall in her face every single time.

I'm also realising that I need to chill and stop trying to stick to a schedule because as she develops her patterns change and I need to adapt.

So today/tonight instead of sticking to the '3 hours awake, then nap' routine I kept her up from 3:45pm til 8:45pm. Usually I would have tried to squeeze a nap in but we had dinner early, had a play then Hubby bounced her to sleep. Tonight's been the first time in a long time he's been able to put her to sleep without her crying for me, so I'm one happy and relaxed Mumma tonight.

As for sleep training..... I really can't bear to hear her crying like that. I don't think either one of is is ready for sleep training. Not one that involves leaving her to cry it out anyway.

Wow, backwards and all.😁 I hope you've raised everything in your house a metre from the floor.

Beautiful baby. 😊
I loved the animations, and I'm crossposting this entry about children in The Kidz Community.

As much fun as it is, he will probably regret that when she is adamant that she is going to walk and doesn't give a crap how in a hurry you are and how slowly she walks, or when she's noted something interesting and she is going to go look at it regardless of anything else and pitches a screaming fit about how unfair the entire universe is when you have to pick her up and just get going XD

never had to do that because we needed to run for a bus >_>

It's actually so much fun and so freaking cute when they're toddling.

I'm also realising that I need to chill and stop trying to stick to a schedule because as she develops her patterns change and I need to adapt.

YES. Thank you. [phew] xD Work with your rhythms :) You know how you get at least internally mad when someone else imposes their systems on you and are shocked that their opinions/what works for them isn't actually global? Babies are the same except they get externally mad XD

And then because they go and develop at a rate of knots that thing that worked perfect today won't work tomorrow. Just to mess with us XD

Seriously ask her what she's so cute for, does she not realise how much agonised squeeing she's causing XD

Lol I'm hoping she won't be chucking fits in public, though everything atm is point to it. Then again she seems to always be on her best behaviour at the grans so 🤷‍♀️

No rhythms pretty much means I dont get much time off during the day so can only get on at night when its bed time (like now); but in some ways it's less stressful. More tiring definitely but I feel calmer.

She probably will at some stage, and it will likely be because she's overwhelmed/overtired/etc :)

There is a rhythm, it's just well out of step with yours so might be a bit of a challenge to find :)

I feel the same as you even these days. It is much less stressful when you're able to figure out a pace that works, even if it ends up being more tiring XD
