"The Ramblings of my Mind"

morning-poetry

My spirit wants to fly free, my thoughts just won’t allow,
I am tied to the Earth by the tedium of my day,
Although (so far) the day has been quite good.

Why is it that my mind goes whirling, unable to settle down?
I drift from one thing to another, achieving bits and pieces
Of tasks that I have set, never quite finishing a one.

Is it procrastination? Is it lethargy? Neither, I think.
Is it distraction, lack of focus? I don’t think that either.
Sometimes the ramblings of my mind have unexpected results.

The darnedest things occur to me when I am gathering wool.
Perhaps this is how my spirit is expressing itself, showing
The need to be free, this is how it flies free.
