Few leaves are hanging on until
the next big winds unbind them.

to much different.
Some blues and golds
peek there way in.
Sticks and stones await
the bone cold temps.

When was the photo taken?
Yes in Alaska, near Skilak lake, October 30th 2019 :-)
And I thought that the photo was taken recently, this January! :)
That would be real scary if it looked like that
right now huh! It's frozen solid now! :-)
I wrote a report on my walk to the river last week.
This winter is warm and there is no ice in places in the middle of the river.
Wow, was there a time before now that your river
was was like that in winter? Been a number of years here
since this deep of a freeze. About ten years ago it was
super cold. -33 F around 2010, this year about -20 F so far
the lowest. But last summer was the longest hottest we've
ever felt. The summer before that was the wettest, rained
about every day and night! :-)
