Reflecting on life

pageBreak.png

My family has been going through a lot of different things over the past few months. Things have been hard, but are starting to turn around for us. While I was going through my old images, I came across this one that I took of my wife while we were on a getaway together.

It got me thinking of all the cool shots we are going to be able to take together while we are both together this November in Bangkok at Steemfest. We are looking forward to the two weeks we will be spending together in Thailand and all of the fun memories that we will come home with. I can't wait to see all of the different sites that Thailand has to offer and see all of the cool people that I met last year at the last Steemfest.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my post. You are awesome. This is my entry for the #monomad challenge. You can check out the latest MONOMAD post here.

@derangedvisions,

Hey Wes.

The picture ... is it supposed to be "upside down?" Could be an artistic thing. :-) In any event, I flipped my laptop upside down to compensate. :-)

Great pic.

Steemfest in Bangkok. I wonder what will be left of STEEM/Steemit by that time. Personally, I'm not optimistic.

Anyway, Bangkok is incredibly interesting so you'll have a great time regardless. A billion things to photograph.

The picture is a reflection in the water, so it is supposed to be upside down. As far as Steem and the blockchain, I think that it will be just fine. There is a lot of things happening and tons of innovation. Steemit itself is just a small portion of how the blockchain is being utilized.

@derangedvisions,

Reflection in the water ... well, guess who feels like a knucklehead. :-)

STEEM/Steemit: With respect, the Dev's/Witnesses are smoking dope. We keep telling you guys that STEEM is Steemit. You keep telling us it isn't. And then we repeat that if it isn't, we're leaving at the first practical moment. We want a functional social media platform. We don't want the Dev's endless dream-scheme projects designed to make them rich in a SMT ICO.

With STEEM at $0.18 and incapable of staying in the Top 80 in terms of market cap, it would seem as if the market agrees with us ... the last vestiges of a once-vaunted Active User base. Just how bad do things have to get before it inspires some soul-searching and self-reflection?

We want the Whale cheating and self-dealing to stop. We want Whale abusive downvoting to stop. And we want Whales/Witnesses to stop insulting our intelligence with bullshit like, "Technically, bidbots can't be banned and there's no way to limit alt-accounts." I've written countless posts, comments and replies explaining precisely how to do both. So have countless others. The Whales and Witnesses don't want to restrain their own malfeasance ... plain and simple.

I guess we'll find out "who needs who more" soon enough.

EOS 1.8 will be functional on September 23, a necessary pre-condition for the launch of "Voice." @dan's got the better part of his USD $4 billion ICO sitting in cash.

To counter that, our fine STEEM generals reasoned now would be a good time to introduce HF21 ... further reducing almost everyone's Author Rewards while encouraging Minnows to commit suicide by downvoting abusive Whales ("Oh ... but it will be free in terms of VP"). Who the f__k came up with that last little gem?

The Witnesses have lost the confidence of their command, the crew has mutinied and are jumping ship. Since time immemorial, this has been the consequence of incompetent/corrupt leadership. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Thanks man. I think we are going to have an awesome time in Thailand. Steemfest will be cool and all, but we are mainly going to experience Thailand.
