In the Southern Ural, there is a little-known village of Novoandreevka surrounded by lakes and birch forests. Several times a year I pass near this village and admire the lovely birch trees growing on the hills.

It's really a beautiful place, anytime of the year. I took these pictures in the spring of 2010.

Interesting the way the vertical trees contrast with the horizontal shadows...Nice images. Black and white always seems to draw my attention.
