Getting up-close and personal with nature
(Edited)
I found this grass(?) or parasite(?? or grass and parasite???) growing on the branch of this tree and what was amazing was the seeds were so visible!
First of all, let me explain that no, I did not climb this tree or a neighbouring tree to get this shot... I was very comfortably standing on a canopy walk that took us high up into the trees...
My first! And I highly recommend it to anyone!
Take for example this over-flowing-with-seed plant that was growing on that hefty branch
If you look carefully - it was a very healthy, nutrient-filled branch, supporting quite a few kinds of vegetation!
Must be the moist and fertile environment, most trees there had thick moss, lichen and all sorts of other plant-life growing on them
Shot this near the entrance
You're probably wondering where this is...
I shot these at the Otway National Park in Victoria, Australia when we went walking at the Otway Fly Treetop Walk

Thank you, @pixresteemer! :)
Such awesome shots I am not sure what it is growing on that first tree but it makes for such a cool shot
Awww, thank you, JJ!
What I thought too... Intriguing!
yes it is kind of intriguing for sure
Looks like a "Cloud Forest". There were trees laden with lichens and moss
Near the top of Mt Lemmon outside Tucson Az, where the clouds so
Frequently shroud the mountain top. Great stuff @ackhoo
Wow, that must be a great place to explore... This was advertised as a rainforest but cooler than what we have here in Malaysia
Mt Lemmon Az. That is my friend Dave Lengel and me
Down the mountain, the sun was shining full blast.
I was drinking, and we had a wreck on the way
Down, totaled my car, broke my nose, lost
Everything I had invested in the care. Did
I learn a lesson from that? No, not for
Many years to come, sad to say
Wow! What a difference in the weather conditions...
I'm guessing all those 'lessons' are all in the past now... Good for you! Many people never learn, at all! So don't be too hard on yourself!
That stunt in the second photo looks like a foolhardy stunt too... 🤦♀️
The "Catalina" mountains, run from the "Sonoran Desert" life zone at the base, through grass land as you go up, I forget what the next level is called, but it's scrub brush, then there is the Alpine Zone near the top, with the Cloud Forest at the crown (what hasn't been cut to make room for repeaters and antennae)
This mountain range is one of 4 that surround the city of Tucson Az USA. They are the
Catalina, Rincon, Santa Maria and Tucson mountains.
