The Government Isn't Done Stealing From You Just Yet. The Bill Is On Its Way

avatar

Hey Jesscitizens

Who would have thought that 1 virus could bring on so much chaos and 2020 would be the year of probably the first global reset in ages, probably in my lifetime. Governments head a free ride over the last 20 or so years, everyone was so fixated on growth and their individual pursuits to see how corrupt and bastardised many of the worlds financial, political and business interests became. The search for quick profits and preserving the status quo has left us with a weakened world immune system and we can see how structures are starting to collapse around us as people lose hope.

Keeping the rich and oligarchs warm and cosy is the only priority for the current system and while you think these policies to help small business and provide cash for citizens seems rational, its always easy to spend other peoples money. The government is proof that when you don't have to work for it, you squander it.

As millions continue to lose their jobs, as thousands of small businesses continue to close, as millions start to fall behind payments on car loans, student loans, rent and home loans, governments are borrowing and printing money like never before. They are essentially stealing the purchasing power from the rest of us and focusing it on different areas of the economy.

It may sound noble, it may sound like what we need, but governments are notorious for being shoddy capital allocators and the rentier class benefits from this fact. As capital is allocated under the guise of helping people, banks and corporates either pick off their piece before it gets to the people or are the ones the people give the capital to once they get it.

Stealing isn't bad its only bad when you do it

Stock markets are soaring

If you ever wanted an indication that the financial economy and real economy are two different things then you only have to look at the way stocks are souring. We've never been in a worse economic condition globally yet stock prices are on the rise as they are bought up by central banks with new money so that owners of these stocks can exit at a favourable level. These companies are deemed too big to fail and it's costing trillions to keep them from falling.

Stimulus is firing on all cylinders

The stock market is not the only receiver of funny money, literally, everyone is asking for a bailout, governments, debtors, creditors, businesses, individuals, everyone suddenly needs money as the velocity of money which in fact has been decreasing over the years to start to completely dry up. The money will be printed and thrown at this problem until it hits hyperinflation, there is no doubt in my mind about this, they only have one tool and with negative interest rates destroying capital they have even more of a reason to keep on printing.

The bill comes due

Regardless of whether we keep the old system or move to a CBDC, there will be a bill to pay and this is going to come in the form of higher and more taxes. We're going to have to pay for all of this for generations and live with a debt that was thrust upon us. Private gold ownership could be under threat, Bitcoin and crypto could be banned all in an attempt to make sure you transact in a method that they can tax to pay for the bills run up since 2020 and the massive bill we're running this year.

While I continue to take positions in crypto, I do have this fear in the back of my mind, that it may be inescapable, that we're going to have to pay for the poor reactions and handling of this situation for years to come.

Have your say

What do you good people of HIVE think? Will they stick us with the bill?

Godmorning. We have no newspaper so I start the saturday with reading your post instead. It sounds very similar to one of my favourit writers . He has written the book "what is money" and talking just about this.

I have also the fear that crypto will be banned ...but in sweden we do not bann so much. We have a more effective way. TAXES
They say that crypto is simular to stocks and that I have to tax EVERY transaction. This is a little bit funny because when I give you this !ENGAGE 10 I have to report it.

Anyway - It can not be banned in Sweden if I see how our law is BUT it can be extremly regulated, so no massadoption.'
Have a nice day (I am thinking of that you ar hours and hours at hive. Always long and good post, and quick to answer evvery comment)

Lol what is the name of the newspaper you like to read? Do you only read Swedish news or do you follow europeans news too? Glad I could be the entertainment with your morning coffee!

Sounds like a good book, I will have to see if I can get it and read it or listen to the audio version.

I don’t want to give the Swedish government any ideas but I read they are working on the ekrone so they could just set up oracles to follow all your transactions and once it’s converted to ekrone they can automatically tax you

I think countries would need to be carful on being too strict let’s say Sweden does this ane Norway does not, how long before all rich Swedes and big businesses open up their bank accounts in Norway and use their system instead and Sweden loses money!

That would be my only hope that governments can’t agree to work together

My brother got me high for the first time while home from boarding school on christmas break in 1969. It was against the law, until recently, in my home provence to possess any substance containing THC. Yet it was a rare day for me not to be high in all the time since that christmas holiday.

Over time my actions made me an activist of sorts against that prohibition. Let's just say that activism lead me to such places as Morocco, Turkey, Afganistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Mexico and Columbia.

Do you think if everyone simply put up their hands in 1969 and excepted the prohibition that it would be legal today in my home provence?

If gold were prohibited do you think mine would be turned into the central authority? If crypto were prohibited do you think there would not be a silk road like site to spend them on? Hell, just about the only things you could buy with Bitcoin in its early days was contraband. 😎

Don’t get me wrong I do agree that it only becomes outlawed when we acquiesce! I just feel the new generation doesn’t have the fight in them to go against their government with the full night and force that may be required! We’ve been in one big nap for ages now letting governments have more power and now they’ve reached totalitarian levels all over the world!

While we can riot and protest if we just removed some of the power from fiat and moved a piece of what we own into a currency we have control over then we have the so called Nuke codes!

We don’t HAVE to use it but we will and bypass you if we need to! Governments can then only realize they are meant to serve the people not the people serving them

Well hopefully things have not gone completely off the rails, in the US at least, before the millennials unseat Boomer power. We are right down to the wire and it may be one reason why such authoritarianism is on display.

My generation shames me. It appears that many of the long hairs were in it for the drugs and free sex.

I think we got more lazy/complacent with every generation and the older generations are not willing to accept something is wrong because it went "right" for so long! Most people are so hopelessly dependant on how things are that they will fight to protect it at any cost even if that means losing everything

If they do finally stick us with the final bill you better believe it’s a multi generational pay back on the cards

bills will never be paid, they will change the game, new fiat system, rich nations will all forgive each other any 'debts'. but i don't think they'll be able to close down gold or crypto, it's gone to mainstream now, i think the window passed at least

You're probably right about that, control at all costs even if that means CBDC with total control and we have no say in money whatsoever, without cash their will be anonymity or escape from government taxes, they will own it end to end. I surly hope so and if they try to people need to stand up and fight for their right to private money and ownership
