Day 828: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: facelift

We can argue about the rewards pool until the cows come home to be milked. For all the good it will do. With Steem’s inflation rate at 8.17% and falling, it’s worth reflecting on the fact that 90%+ of the Steem that will exist a year from now already exists. The reward pool is small potatoes. We can upvote and downvote, tweak our SteemAuto settings, grumble about @somerandomasshat who’s in the running for the Worst Steemlandian Citizen due to milking the rewards pool, circlejerking with @yukongold and @frenchfingerling, but how that other 90%+ of Steem is getting delegated probably has more influence over blockchain development.

The folks at Stinc have their hands full juggling hot potatoes. Gotta feel for them, it must get old to see When are Smart Media Tokens going live? for the 847th time. But after SMT’s are finally out and conquering the world, maybe they can take a deep breath and attend to some housecleaning. The Steemit dApp is long overdue for a facelift. As is, its home page is vaguely reminiscent of a GeoCities site from the mid-nineties. Fire up your Mosaic browser and head over there!
