My Escape from the USSA - On a "Private Flight"

(Edited)

Hello beautiful humans!

I made it to Mexico yesterday, after a lot of uncertainty and 2 separate attempts by SouthWest Airlines employees to tell me that I wasn't allowed to fly out of the country.

The following is a short video I recorded while I was on the flight to Puerto Vallarta... It was a pretty wild experience.

If you're looking for something to do while you're locked in your human storage unit, my big recommendation is to read one (or both) of these books, which will certainly change your life:

  • The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin
  • Player of Games by Iain M. Banks

The "Pandemic" and the Response

As everyone knows, the world is currently in chaos due (supposedly) to a strain of novel Coronavirus. The one thing that we know for sure is that the governments & media aren't being honest, are fear-mongering, and seem to intentionally be collapsing the world's economy.

If you're curious as to why they would do that... you've got a LOT of catching up to do. The biggest reason would be that the collapse was inevitable and overdue, and this way they don't get blamed, a virus does. Another reason would be to shut down tens of thousands of small businesses, feeding their customers to the Amazon Leviathan. There are many more, more sinister and satanic reasons, but I'll leave that for you to research if you want.

For the moment, this is by far the best article I've seen on the nCoVid-19 situation.

PS: Steem vs Hive

My intention has been to stick with the Hive blockchain, and probably leave Steem behind... but after seeing that the fork didn't airdrop 300 accounts' balances (not just StInc), but it did airdrop to Binance... I'm feeling a bit less sure. At the moment though, Dtube is still my video platform, so here I am. Not to mention I haven't been online since before the fork and don't have time to catch up at the moment. I guess we'll see what happens folks :-P

Edit: Of course, after I wrote this and tried posting to Dtube, I got some error messages and was no longer able to access Steempeak (have read about chainID issues and such, sounds like this fork is a rough one), so I ended up posting it to ThemTube so at least I could get it out closer to when I recorded it instead of sitting on the video for who knows how long.

I have read tons of Iain Banks books. 'Player of Games' was one of the most insane, for sure. 'Look to Windward' will always be one of my favorites because of its optimistic futurism and also because it was the first one of his books I ever read :-)

LtW is great! I feel like Player of Games is one of the best for presenting what an imperialistic/competitive society would look like to an outsider. I really enjoyed the title story in State of the Art as well, that angle on "modern" society was really enjoyable.

I've been seeing rumors swirling for a few years now about a HBO/Netflix/Showtime style television remake of Consider Phlebas. I sure hope they come true :-)

Player of Games is forever etched into my mind... one particular scene when the "conspiracy" of the society is uncovered is too vivid/grotesque to forget, lol. I don't think I've read State of the Art, I'll have to keep that one in mind. That would be really cool to see movie/show adaptions of his stories!

Ya, that book is intense, kinda gruesome, and the end definitely had me surprised (always a great thing!)

SotA is a book of short stories he wrote, 2 or 3 (I forget) of which are in the Culture. The main one (the title story) is about a contact unit visiting Earth in the... 60s or 70s. It was really cool to experience his social commentary in such a more direct way than usual.

That crash was so due.

And now it's back on us: it'll be QE and inflation and working until you're 80 as part of the 'recovery'.

I've got to hand it to the man though, this is straight out of 'The Watchmen' - it's an absolute masterstroke of mass control.

I am vaguely hopeful it may backfire - with more people realising that maybe a more self-reliant lifestyle is the way forward.

People should be much more open to the idea of 'local autonomy' once the pain kicks in over the coming months and years.

Trying to be optimistic here.

The crash was certainly due, and I think that alone accounts for a lot of the way this has been approached by the "institutions."

I know I've seen a lot of new interest & drive in people to move away from the old paradigm. Even family members that used to just shake their head at many of my questions & thoughts are now specifically asking me questions and for sources...

Who knows. I get the sense that both sides (virus & response) are currently blown out of proportion, and in a few weeks/months things will look pretty much back to "normal," but with a few more rules in place. Speaking to the US mostly, that is. Who knows what's happening in China :-/

It'll be more neoliberal totalitarianism for sure - although I still can't believe that's a thing - it's kind of like double speak for real. This Virus is the ultimate 'shock' you might say!

I was really just thinking today how much division this response is going to cause in the long run - perfect for more control measures.

Right? How is it that a word which literally means "in favor of maximum liberty/freedom" is used as a descriptor for authoritarians?

Changing reality through changing language... This is a topic I want to write more about, specifically in relationship to the languages that have been eradicated over the last centuries, and all the concepts that were lost with them.

We can always cross our fingers that the banksters, bilderbergers, and their pedophile buddies all end up getting it. They certainly fit into the high risk groups.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one thinking exactly what you're thinking. I'm gonna check out your book recommendations. Thanks and enjoy PR.

I think you'll like the books, would love to hear your feedback afterwards :-)

Down here things are pretty calm. I'm actually about half an hour from Puerto, in a little beach town. About 80% of the tourists are gone, maybe 1 in 10 folks is wearing a mask, and everybody's still playing volleyball & soccer on the beach, hanging out on benches in the center of town, etc.

Can definitely see the businesses taking a hit after the mass gringo exodus, but otherwise pretty normal goings on :-)

Words cannot express my envy for your situation.
(And I hope you’ve been able to access your Hive wallet because I can’t access mine.)

It sure was a wild ride, but I'm happy to be chilling right next to the ocean now, with everyone around calm & peaceful :-)

Really haven't touched Steem or Hive since the fork, besides posting this video. Seems there has been a lot of broken things, so I'll wait for 'em to get fixed.

Peakd.com is the steempeak website running on hive and it’s running quite well. Wallet and all...

Yeay, congrats on making it out just in time! A friend of mine was on the last plane from San Jose, CA to Cabo San Lucas, with only three other passengers on a regular commercial flight. Anyhow, great to see you here, and in spite of everything, I really hope Hive turns out to be what it promises.

Seriously, 2020 is not even 25% of the way over, and it's already been the most transformational year we've had in some time. I feel pretty good about Hive, definitely have some issues with the way the airdrop was done, but I feel like even with whatever HIVE has, Steem is basically dead in the water at this point, so I'll be doing my part to make our new home great!

And the good company; a LOT of anarchists have crossed that border in the last week or two.

That's a lot of accounts really, considering the active user base. Binance may have chosen to do the deal with giving the airdrop to their Steem holding customers. Hopefully some of the ones missed off can appeal, as there were genuine mistakes made with votes to tron accounts. I agree, though, cutting out so many from the airdrops was painful to see.

When this economic collapse is over, I think a renewal of efforts for small businesses is paramount. Perhaps we need to do a roundup of those we can support through the lockdown.

Ya, it sounds like there were only a couple of Witnesses who were actively opposed to the if:then way of deciding who didn't get the airdrop, instead of the more nuanced approach that was talked about prior, including BlockTrades big post about the fork. It sounds like the non-airdropped funds are all in the DAO now, so hopefully the proposal system will get funds back to those who deserve them. I'll be paying attention and using my votes accordingly.

When this economic collapse is over, I think a renewal of efforts for small businesses is paramount. Perhaps we need to do a roundup of those we can support through the lockdown.

That is a great idea, and definitely feels necessary. I get the sense that one of the many reasons this approach i being taken is specifically to shut down small businesses as sacrifices to the god of Amazon.

Bumpy is the word for this fork.
Glad to see you outside the wall they are building.
Those things work both ways.

Those things work both ways.

They certainly do, and I'm pretty sure if they ever build a wall, most of the guards will be facing inwards, just like at a prison.

I guess I'm just never surprised when forks are "bumpy" anymore, I've yet to experience one that wasn't at least a bit of a cluster-f$@k.

So many of my friends and family believe the narrative that is being fed to them regarding this virus. How do we survive the apocalypse? Community.

That's one crazy flight man. Been having more and more of these personal horror moments when you realise something is very wrong with this entire debacle.

The government in Australia is giving out payments left right and centre.

Already they have blocked payments for those that conscientiously object to not having their children vaccinated. I wouldn't surprise me if this is where the microchip comes in. Continued payments on proviso of a microchip being implanted and forced vaccine or the payments stop.

It's scary but it was inevitable and it's what we've all been waiting for.

The wheat from the tares is getting easier and easier to see. Those that can see and those that choose not to see.

It sure is. It seems to be unraveling a bit now, hopefully that trend picks up.

I'm certainly glad to be in a quiet little place by the ocean, with no cops within a half-hour drive :-)
