Favourite Album: Nightfall in Middle-Earth by Blind Guardian

Genre: Power Metal with symphonic elements
Insanely epic fantasy power metal about Lord of the Rings. There are so many good songs here and everything about this album is great (except the (imo) overuse of spoken word interlude songs). Hansi Kursch's vocals are incredible and the guitar tone is so awesome (intro to Into the Storm, I'm looking at you). It's a triumphant and epic album and it's awesome. Favourite Song: Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) by Arcade Fire

Genre: Indie Rock, Chamber Pop
Beautiful song, it has made me cry, it's perfect. It's so raw and Win Butler's slightly flawed vocals fit it so much and add to the rawness of it. When he screams out "Well, whatever happened to them!?" and the drums kick in a bit more is just incredible. It's triumphant but also bittersweet, it brings out so many emotions. It's basically perfect.
