Businesses Helping Restaurants helping Health Workers!

You may have caught our last story where we teamed up with community leaders to provide 60 meals for another group of health care hearoes at Greenwood Court long term care facility: Operation Greenwood https://hive.blog/marketing/@town-crier/community-collaboration-for-front-line-health-heroes

Today, shed a bit of a spotlight on a few of the individual contributors who made it happen!

This inspiring story was a week in the making but came together brilliantly on Friday April 24th as we united to brighten the day of a whole team of Greenwood's passionate professionals. Worth highlighting is the fact that Restaurants are among the hardest hit businesses in our community with an estimate 18% of them destined to fold in this period of upheaval. Our small town is extra special in this regard because of the richness we have in local cuisine, and the incredible support happening to keep them in business and engaged in our rebound.

Taverna Pazzo https://www.pazzo.ca/ is the ideal combination of locally loved and internationally admired restaurant. The preparation for a busy theater and tourist season would normally be almost complete about now but things are not as they normally are. Despite having just courageously launched a very innovative home delivery/pickup service (ingredients AND instructions to cook it yourself!!) in an effort to innovate and survive, Jeff immediately answered the call to provide 20 full meals. The whole team has family ties to Greenwood and put business and profitability aside to make sure they threw their support behind these beloved care-givers.

When discussing the project with Jeff, we talked about the supporters who are throwing their weight and support to our cherished restaurants in this time of need and the first name mentioned was Chris McGregor. He runs Sommers Generator Systems https://www.sommersgen.com/ in Stratford who have "been here 24/7/365 for 84 years and its not about to change now!" When we had the privilege of connecting with him and his team directly, he digested the details of what we were doing and immediately insisted that he and Sommers purchase all of the meals for the project. This generosity seems to be a theme with each of the leaders with whom we are uniting and we decided to limit the purchase so other sponsors could join in.

Please please click on the website link to check our the fantastic power solutions at Sommers and join us in thanking Chris and the team for their inspiring and generous support.

Here we have @zekepickleman loading part of the order into the car, which smelled TOO good on the delivery to the retirement residence.

Project Greenwood is so named because the real focus is upon the health professionals at Greenwood Court https://www.tcmhomes.com/greenwood-about.php Thank you so much for what you and all the other front line workers do to protect the community.

We have yarns to spin about each of the wonderful restaurants who supplied the meals and the business sponsors who jumped in to help finance this project.

The dedicated and passionate caregivers at our long-term care facilities are another priceless group healthcare professionals who deserve so much of our appreciation and support. It seems such a small thing for us to deliver one meal after they have put in another long 40+ hour week. So, we may have to keep at it.

The restaurants unanimously convey a sincere thank you and, this time, they are coming from:

We cannot wait to get into the sponsors and stories behind these restaurants who seriously need your support to survive now, and thrive later. It was our pleasure to be able to come together and deliver a little tasty sunshine to your day and we are here to help in any way we can.

STAY TUNED for more restaurant and community leader spotlights the coming days!

It is difficult to put into words how fulfilling it is to play a small part in supporting community heroes. All we can do is be thankful for being involved and hope it inspires you to get active in your community when it needs you the most.

Sincerely, contact us at [email protected] or at https://www.facebook.com/towncriermarketingcanada/ if we can help you do something like this for your community. Our pleasure.

Thank you for your business support, following our story and sharing in those we tell of our clients. Feel free to create a blog for your business https://signup.hive.io/ and ask us how to leverage it towards success.

OUTSTANDING!

Great job. I give you kudos for addressing a topic that is very important.

In addition, let us not forget the electricians, technicians and folks that ensure we have the Internet and electricity to power it. They are also heroes who do not receive the honor they deserve. Is your internet working? If it is, it is... give thanks to those folks!

Much appreciated support and engagement Sarge!

Did you know that @zekepickleman also installs internet for the locally owned and operated Internet Service Provider? They have laid off most of their staff but he has been out installing and doing onsite technical visits to improve their internet. Helping people be productive, entertained and connected with loved ones is important. Goods thing is he has been known to work for beer!
