Market Friday Mohegan Sun

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Steemit, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and daily challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I am going to share some shots from a visit we did to Mohegan Sun recently, this was a spur of the moment visit when during a storm we lost power to our house in the middle of the night, and the projected time to get power back was over 24 hours, so I booked a room there, funnily enough not long after booking the room online the power came back on but we went anyway.

Mohegan Sun is one of the Big Casinos near us, and I didn't take a lot of photos with my camera in there as in places like this security guards can get a bit overzealous not wanting you to take photos with a camera, which I find funny as they do not mind people taking photos with a phone and phone camera have come along so much these days, but enough of that rant lets get to the photos.

This is in the lobby of the Hotel and I loved the decor and this water feature, OK maybe not so much Market related, but some could say a Casino and Hotel is a market of sorts, I will get to some shops in the Casino, but I thought it was a nice shot to start the post with.

here we have a store you can sometimes smell before you see, the Yankee Candle shop, now I say that about the smell as the aroma of the candles I catch well before getting near the store, same as I do near a Starbucks, and I have a weak sense of smell for the most part, so I am sure others notice that even sooner than I do

Next up is the Swarvoski Crystal shop, I took these shots all in the morning when it was quiet and I thought i would have less chance of security saying anything to me, which seemed to work, either that or they do not mind you taking photos with a camera there.
Now since my Wife isn't on Steemit I can say this is a shop I actually went into, I went in there and there was a piece she really loved, I acted nonchalant and we left and carried on walking, When she wanted to pop into another shop, I said I needed to go to the bathroom and instead raced back and picked up not only the piece she liked but a matching necklace for her and have then hidden away for her Birthday and Christmas which are within a day of each other :)

I took a shot of this Keihls store as I recently took a shot of a Keihls stor ein Manhattan that looked a lot older and perhaps less classy than this one in the casino

Speaking of Classy, with the Rolex sign I gather this store is high End it is one I have not seen before, but did not go in to check it out

You should have told me, because the Swarovskis are Austrian, and if you had told them greetings from me you might have got the peaces cheaper ... or maybe you would even had to pay !DERANGED more ;) lol

Nice story, cool photos - I like this Casino, it looks so beautiful colorful, but most I liked your story about the presents for your wife - this is love and she will love you so much 😊

ITs is a lOL casino, pity i cant drink anymore i loved the free !BEER while playing games there in the past

The husband of Fiona Swarovski was our Treasury Secretary, so you may be sure, knowing an Austrian would have at least doubled the price for you ;)

The more free !BEER you drank, the !DERANGED easier it was for you to lose more money than the beer was worth ;)

I love an occasional trip to Mohegan Sun! It is a beautiful casino. I usually go there when I go to Connecticut to visit my favorite brother-in-law, Jack, and his family.

That is ONE fancy place right there !

Impressive lobby. Is the water feature just for looks? Those are neat bent wood tiki type torches around it.

I love Yankee candles. I use to buy the votives by the dozen because they had such good deals on them if you bought that many. I haven't been there in a LONG time. Every time I found a scent I really love, they discontinue it ! arghhh... ha ha

I'm sure your wife is going to love those crystal pieces. It is great that you noticed and thought to do that. What a good hubby ! :)

Black Friday must be busy in NYC! But wow, it is really admirable that you picked the piece that your wife liked from the crystal shop.... and heartwarming to know that husbands all over have their hearts fixed on their wives and families. It is what makes the world better, I think, when people are grounded on their families.

What a lovely place for a staycation! It reminds me of a resort and casino that we visited. We enjoyed the room and the pool the most while we were there. LOL ^_^ have a great weekend!

Oh, that first shot is exquisite!! Mohegan Sun is a really popular place for you Connecticut Yankee (wanna be's in your case!)

Well, seriously though, it really has a nice entrance. My sister and brother in law love going there every once in a while. In Las Vegas, if you show a camera at the casino, they will confiscate it for you. Counting cards or something like that.

I went over to the Swarovski Crystal Factory when I lived in Europe and believe it or not, just like Rolex watches and a few other items, they are price controlled. Even at the factory, the prices were the same as in the States.

Highly disappointing.

Either that or they thought I knew @Johannpiber! Ugh. Who knew!?? Just kidding, of course!

Beautiful shop fronts... No matter what they say, commercialised or not, these do put you in the festive mood.... :)
You did great on that doubling back to get the prezzies... :)
