Market Friday Hallmarks Christmas in July

ChristmasInJuly-710x473.jpg

Welcome to #MarketFriday by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!)) Here it is, Christmas in July, just as I promised you! The words are weaving and the heart is growing softer, I can almost feel the sprinkling of magic covering me. And yes, whoever started this tradition of Christmas in July was pure genius. Not for all the money spent on gifts we don't need, but for the love and blessings that are handed out so freely at this time of year. So, yes. Merry Christmas to you!

I stepped outside to get a snippet of the green, in celebration of this wonderful day. I am guessing the cyber world is really playing it up big! They actually had Black Friday in July! All of my stores are having Christmas sales. This is being taken way out of control. Methinks it is just a sales ploy without the click and bait. They don't need to! It's Christmas!! In July.

I was lucky that I remembered to go to the grocery store after Christmas (the one in December!) and buy some extra cranberries and put them in the freezer. This morning, I got them out and prepared the cranberry sauce. One of my favorite parts of the meal.

In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, I put my Christmas Spode into service, enjoying my coffee and a little something in it. It's Christmas! I even painted my nails a little bit red. Ho! Ho! Ho!

I almost didn't go to the Christmas store, but, I couldn't resist! Who doesn't want to reproduce that wonderful feeling we all get from Christams? I would pay good money to have that same feeling . Are you with me? Let's go! After coffee, of course!

Pucker up baby!! It's Christmas in July and I carry my own mistletoe.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

How to Participate:

1. Go to the market! Any market will do! Food, Clothing, Plant or Animal, if you wish. You can go to the zoo or an art auction. Anywhere or anything that you pay money for a service. I once went to a nail salon.
2. Take pictures! Be creative (or not)
3. Tell us a little bit about the market, what brought you here?
4. Post the picture(s)
5. Don’t forget to hashtag it! #MarketFriday by @dswigle
6. Drop the link to your post here so I can easily find them

It is always interesting to see the different markets around the globe! C’mon! Show me your market shots! I eagerly await them!

I could not resist going to the Christmas store. Just to see what I might need for the Christmas in December. It never hurts to shop a little early and they had some really striking pieces. I have to deduce that is only because I don't need them tonight. If I did, I would never find them. Isn't that the truth!

I hope you will join us as we share different markets. It has been such a pleasure to see markets from all over the world. Who doesn't love to see what they are selling? There is always a curiosity attached to foreign ingredients, different produce or any product sold. So, yes! I would love to see yours! So don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery, art galleries, wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Don't forget to use the hashtag #marketfriday and @dswigle.

Please leave the link to your post on here so it can easily be found by others. They will all be in one place!! Thank you! ❤

I am touched by the way the kindness has just radiates outward, wherever I went, whatever I did. Can we please do this kind thing all year round? I promise it won't wear out!

STOP!! BRAIN TEASER AHEAD!!

Question: As a Christmas gift parents buy 16 computer games for their 3 children! The youngest gets 1/8 of the games, the middle child gets 1/4 of the games and the oldest gets 1/2 of the games.

How many games does each child receive and how many do the parents keep?

source

Answer: You have 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2. If you give them a common denominator of 16 then you end up with 2/16, 4/16 and 8/16 and so the answer is…

Youngest Child: 2 games
Middle Child: 4 games
Oldest Child: 8 games
Parents: 2 games

As always, there must be a flower. Always. To color my world. This flower is dedicated to #FridaySkyBlue #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra, who colors my world every day.

If you are getting that Christmas in July feeling, here are the top ten places in the United States that celebrate Christmas in July the best! Sneak a peek here.

Thanks for taking a walk on the wild side in memory of Christmas. It was fun and truly gave me some ideas for next Christmas. So thank you and I hope you have yourself a Merry Little Christmas! And if you get bored tonight, I know for a fact that the Hallmark Channel is only playing Christmas movies!

And just like that, this post is over! I hope you had a good time and yes! I know that Christmas in July is a bit odd, but, some days, you just have to give into it. So tie up those reindeer, sit down and let's have some dinner chased by a little egg nog and fruit cake! You know you want to! Cheers!!

Let the sun shine in on your life
So the joy may touch your soul

I love to share and be shared with! I am intrigued by different cultures. It is exciting and yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery, a kite festival! Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! We will love it! I promise you! Don't forget to use the hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post, again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

You are just so organized @dswigle I take my Santas hat off to you. 🎅 Only six months to go before Christmas!!!!! Incredible! Maybe.......just maybe, you have inspired me to plan ahead and get my gifts sorted so that the all too familiar pre-Christmas rush will be more of a smooth transition into the special Christmas season. A wonderful post my fiend. (U & R )

Haha! Oh, Trudee! I am so unorganized on things some days. The Christmas in July may be used to move people along, but, honestly, I believe it is something to promote peace on earth and goodwill towards man. I cannot think of a better way than to celebrate Christmas half-way through the year.

There isn't the traditional Christmas things... a few sales and movies and a big push on the goodness of your fellow man. The rest, I took a few liberties with. :)

Anyway, thank you always for dropping the link and for being such a rock star and joining #MarketFriday!
I appreciate your kindness and support.

So with that I shall promise to resteem tomorrow coz I just got my video to upload after a million tries OMG. Oh yeassss I am indeed rambling. Perhaps it is the eggnog?? Nay, just way past the old man's bedtime. Lord knows I need all the beauty sleep I can possibly get. So with that, may I say “Happy Christmas (IN JULY) to all, and to all a good night!” :D Cya.

Well, I full expect a Christmas in July kind of day from you, right? I can hear you still rambling, but, I know that you will get your eight hours of sleep, so I am not worried!

Or perhaps you are a closet eggnogger? I hadn't even given that any consideration! Let's not even get into the beauty sleep department, okay?

Oh, yeah!! You know it! Happy Christmas in July! I wouldn't have it any other way! You got your fruitcake, right?

I knew you would get it! The minute I used my f I knew that your mind would pick that up and spit it out easy. Did you not get that I was going to do Christmas in July? I cannot believe it! I do love my Christmas! More than that, I love being a notion of having peace on Earth and Goodwill towards men and a year-long basis. And if this is what it takes to get there, I'm all for it. They didn't do that much around here except for a few sales and a few movies and promoting the Goodwill towards men, but every little bit helps and of course the coach that I put up took a little bit of leeway with the Christmas in July theme. No permission asked. LOL I want to thank you for supporting Market Friday all day long and thanks for stopping in to say hello and leaving your words behind.

I know, right???

I wonder just how hard that is to be nice to people. Kindness counts, no matter what people say.

Thanks again! You are the best!

Oh, a marketing ploy for sure, but, it is one with a positive twist in my eyes. It is not the big all-out holiday that December brings, but, it has brought out a certain behavior in people around here. Generally a more favorable look upon life. A little more peace and goodwill towards the neighbor.

It's nice to see the small parts of the holiday come out and leave the big commercial buying frenzy to December. Although, I find that a little repugnant as well. Spoiling a perfectly good holiday teaching our children all about greed.

Perhaps one day, it will become bigger there in South Africa. It is not huge here, but, it is gaining. :)

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello! Merry Christmas in July! LOL

Great post and photos Denise and I love Christmas in July!! Can you believe I visited Ocean City and forgot to check out the Christmas store?! I remembered it after I got home. No way!! I was headed out that way for a little fishing, well actually a little bit closer with St. Michaels. It is so nice over there, isn't it? Even if it is for a couple of hours, walking down that boardwalk soothes the beast in me.

Are you talking about the one on the boardwalk? Mia's Christmas Gallery?? If it is, she is, indeed - alive and thriving. :) I think she might have even dropped your name... Hmmm

I know! I started getting hungry this morning, reading my own post! How bad is that? Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your words! It is always good to see you!

Oh, my dear Sally! You have a penchant for always saying the right thing! Well of course you know I took great Liberties here and showing how we celebrate Christmas in July, but the truth is that it's very low-key and it's mostly promoting online sales or a Black Friday in July type thing and also promoting peace on Earth and Goodwill towards man. That could never be a bad thing and if that's what they want to promote with a few movies thrown in for good measure, I'm all on board. They could do Christmas all year long if we could have that. That feeling of kindness, that feeling of wonder, that feeling of wanting to do something nice for another person? I'm there I'll join. My Christmas tree outside is getting bigger by the year so it's going to need some extra lights. I can remember when it was just a wee one. Now it wants to show its stuff for Christmas. Thank you so much for always making me smile as I read through words! And thank you so much for supporting Market Friday.

Hello, Svetlana! That doesn't surprise me one bit the Christmas is your favorite time of year. What's not to love? Everything is so beautiful when people are so nice. It's easy to fall into the Trap of making it your favorite. I just wish somewhere along the line it hadn't gotten so commercial because that is what ruins everything about it. Of course I do wish that keep the Goodwill and him take the greed part of it out.

I am really happy to hear that you liked my post because sometimes I wonder if they're just a tad too eclectic for everybody. I like to keep it a little mixed up to make it different. Thank you again for stopping by and say hello and leaving your wonderful words behind. I also want to thank you for giving Market Friday full support every week. Oh, could you feel the frost? Well, then my job is done here! :)

The dishes are what we use at Christmas in December, I was being silly today. But the silverware, I usually only use for Thanksgiving as they have big fat turkeys on them. Cranberry sauce is my favorite and I love cooking it until those juicy little berries pop!

Thank you for dropping the link. I appreciate it very much and who could skip over you with an amazing piece of architecture like that? Right? I would call it excellent marketing.

Well, to be honest, the only celebration they have is to have a few extra sales online and in the stores and promote peace on earth and goodwill towards men like Christmas always does.

The rest we leave for December. I was taking liberties with my writing. :)

Thanks for sharing all of your Christmas in July photos. Having lived overseas in the tropics it amazed me how much I missed the weather as a part of the Christmas season. Hot chocolate is not as enjoyable on the equator. Christmas sweaters are needed there.

So even though Christmas in July sounds nice, I think I will save my excitement for the cold months. On the other hand, my wife and kiddos would want to leave the tree up all year.

I have lived in the heat during a period of time and yes! Having it warmer than my hot chocolate outside does not bode well with me. It is just not the same. But, I guess it is all in what you are used to.

Christmas in July is meant to bring the goo parts of the holiday - peace on earth, goodwill towards man- in the equation and leave the bulk of it for the feeding frenzy in December. Even Hallmark has two weeks of Christmas feelgood movies going as I write this.

And yes, I would probably leave my tree up all year! :) So, are you with us on this?? Goodwill and a giving heart are what it's all about! Thank you for stopping by and saying hello!

Merry Christmas in July!

I am definitely in on the the goodwill and giving heart side of things. The world would be a better place if we all made that a yearlong focus.

And Christmas holds a special place in my heart because of its importance in my faith. I am no Scrooge (at least I hope not).

0

Not at all! I didn't mean to imply that and Christmas holds a special place in my heart also, first because of religion , then because the older I get the more I realize that it's just a little bit more than that. And yes I am all for a year-long Feeling of peace and goodwill

Well I would just have to say that you're smart like that! And perhaps you can read my mind just a little bit. You are not the first person and probably will not be the last to have predicted that I was going to do Christmas in July. I hate being so predictable. I am glad that you got some enjoyment out of it and as you know I took a few liberties and as the celebration is small and mostly shopping based and few movies. I'm always aiming for the peace on Earth and Goodwill towards men the feeling and this actually does the trick for me!

So grab a napkin and let's party!

It does look like December, doesn't it? Of course you know only as lunatics would celebrate Christmas in July! For me it is more about the peace on Earth Goodwill towards men and nothing to do with Christmas really except for that wonderful feeling that you get at that time of year. So thank you saying for supporting Market Friday and as always I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Po

Merry Christmas in July! #MarketFriday loves you!

Hi Shaun! I am so glad that you are enjoying my Christmas tree even though Christmas in July is mostly about the feeling, I took a little bit of Liberty can spread out the whole holiday. We can throw in some peace on Earth and Goodwill to men. Thank you so much for dropping off your link and for supporting the challenge!

Hehe! Of course! It was a liberty I took!! It is the peace on earth and goodwill that they are really promoting - and a few sales, of course!

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello!

Oh, it is almost that time! Except, you are supposed to live with the spirit of Christmas in your heart, not indulge in the eggnog and fruit cake... Well, only if you will give me a little nibble!

I know how you like nibbles.

Thank you for being a good sport and even donning the little elf hat for us. And you dropped the link! I didn't even have to hunt you down this week. Mazel Tov.

Seriously, thanks again and I hope you have a most wonderful day!!!

Ooo. I will have a market Friday for next week. Yay!

I love all of this. Christmas in July is great. I lived in Australia for several years where Xmas of course falls in the heat of summer. However, Christmas in July was also quite popular. I loved getting that winter Xmas feeling even if it was the wrong time of year. And as my birthday is in July I always got to combine the two for an extra special experience.

Happy Friday dear @dswigle!

I am very excited that you will have a market Friday for next week!

I am glad that you love Christmas in July because I have gotten some negative feedback because they think it's over saturating the Christmas Market. However I can say that it is not so much the holiday that they are celebrating, but the peace on Earth Goodwill to men. I took a little bit of Liberty and showing the entire holiday but it's a few sales here and there and Christmas movies, but the rest is all about the feeling of it. I'm so glad that Christmas in July was popular because everybody should enjoy Christmas with a little bit of Frost and perhaps a little snow. So thank you for that and I am so glad that you dropped in to say hello. Just knowing I have another fellow Christmas in July fan makes my heart Happy!

Merry Christmas in July! #MarketFriday loves you!

hahaha I love it. Christmas in July and mistletoe to go along with it. Pucker up people I have a moving mistletoe with me. hehe

Brainteaser got me again. I am terrible in math so I just read the answer and pretended I knew what the answer was. lol

Have an amazing day, my friend. :)

Well Merry Christmas in July! I guess it doesn't get any better than that does it? I mean if you think about it there is peace on Earth and Goodwill towards men. That seals it for me. Anytime we are going to have that in this world I'm jumping on board. Of course I took many liberties with this post because here in the USA, although there are sales, usually of the Cyber kind and movies for Christmas in July I took many liberties in promoting it by showing off the typical Christmas in December. Anyway, if I could carry mistletoe around with me all year long, I don't think that that would be a bad thing. LOL hey! Sue me I'm I'm human!

well I'm certainly glad if you got a laugh over this and I want to thank you for stopping by and say hello, leaving your kind words behind. I hope that you have a most wonderful day, even if you didn't get the brain teaser! I think I might pretend that I know the answers next time. It sounds like a good strategy!

I know, right? As a fellow elf in training oh, you understand the need to have Christmas in July! Or any other time of the year, in my opinion. While I may have taken a couple Liberties and posting the entire holiday for Christmas in July oh, we all know that it's about the Cyber sales and the Black Friday in July and a few Christmas movies but, who says that we cannot have peace on Earth and Goodwill towards men all year long? And if it takes having Christmas all year long, I think it's a win-win.

I think that it makes me so happy to know that you enjoyed the post and you know I'm going to your house next to see for Christmas! Because, as I know you are one of the few people that keep some of the decorations up all year long, just like me!

Somebody asked me if I put up a tree..... .LOL !!! I didn't think of it really, but the questioned made me wonder if I should have a small tree with summer ornies...... very small, but just for the fun of it.

I say that, while knowing that I just got a lot of my glass ornaments put away properly about 3 weeks ago from last Christmas ! Try not to laugh too hard, but that's the truth.

Sure, sure.... I need another tree for halfway through. (No I don't)

One question mark you didn't put up a tree how can you celebrate Christmas in July without a tree! You know, anything for the fun of it!

I actually cannot believe that you already took down your tree and your ornaments. Last year it was probably September or October before you did that. See, now you're getting ahead of yourself. I actually believe that you need another tree to get halfway through it. ( Yes, you do!)

Merry Christmas in July!! Again!

The ornaments I just put up were not even on the tree since I used those vintage aluminum ones. They were just in trays and baskets and the such and were easy to move out of the way.

No.... no tree.

Me so lazy ! Maybe next year ! (no)

Ha! I didn't do a tree!!! I took great liberties with the post, but, honestly, it is all about that Christmas spirit!!

You have so many beautiful ornaments! I love them!!

Merry Christmas in July!

I love them all too and although I adored my new vintage aluminum trees very much, it left my beautiful ornies without a place to hang. I need a bigger house ... LOL.... and a maid, because I can't keep up with this little one !!

Hahah! Yes!!! Cheers to Christmas in July!!! I am so happy to hear that you liked the post! There is a real "Christmas in July" but it is mostly cyber shopping and Hallmark Movies. The rest, I took a few liberties. Christmas in December is safe.

But, they do promote peace on earth and goodwill toward men. I don't think they can promote that enough!!

You post sound right up the old Christmas Alley!!! :)

Merry Christmas in July!

They tried to have Christmas in July over here Blondie, but it flunked badly because methinks Saffers are very logical thinkers.
If Christmas has always been in December, then why on earth would some mad people now have Christmas in July? Are they Aliens? This seems to be the line of local thought Lol.

Of course the businesses would absolutely adore another Christmas in July, but they would have no customers Lol.
Hope you have enjoyed your Christmas and that plate of food has a certain hungry look about it.
Blessings!

I just love how much you love Christmas LOL. Isn't Christmas in July a big thing in Australia? maybe next year, you can plan a trip 🤪

I have to say that I do love Christmas, and I totally missed my mark on this post because the thing about the whole Christmas in July was to promote that same feeling that Christmas seems to bring... the peace on earth, the goodwill towards man. Not so much the buying, because that is the very least of Christmas to me. xoxo

Australia tried to make it big, but it failed. I hope you are having a wonderful start of your week!
