A world without color

I couldn't live without color

pageBreak.png

I am sure that you know someone that has some form of colorblindness, but total colorblindness where they only see in shades of gray is actually pretty rare. Have you ever stopped and thought about what it would be like to live in that type of world, where you live without seeing any color at all?

I have thought about it a bit and it would not be that fun. There is so much that I take for granted from just being able to somewhat match my clothes to just appreciating the colors of the world around me.

Take this butterfly for instance. Look at all of the different shades of blue and white, and even the orange spots on the wings. Even the wall has some pretty cool colorful texture with the green mold on it.

Now in grayscale, it is just boring and doesn't have the same impact that the colorful image has. The butterfly would lose all of its individuality among all of the other butterflies because they would all just be shades of gray and white instead of all of the different colors of the rainbow.

The Holi festival would not look the same at all.

The picture that looked like it was obviously from the color festival takes on a more ominous tone and looks more like it is a scene from a protest with smoke and tear gas going off in a crowd of masked protestors.

Color adds so much life and excitement to the world. Color is is one of the things that brought thousands of people together on the day this image was taken.

Just did a little looking,
it seems, Skates, the fish, are one of the only confirmed species that does NOT see color. They have no Cones in their eyes!

Life without color would be hard to bear! Those are amazing photos that make the point well. My ex-husband was colorblind in the blues. My son got his hair dyed blue a few years ago, and when his Dad saw him later on he didn't say anything. We both just stared at him because, well, he didn't seem to notice the blue hair. But then I remembered he was color blind so it looked the same as the brown before to him.

By the way, would you be interested in doing an interview with Steem Basic Income? Here is a link to the latest one to give you an idea of what I'm talking about: https://steemit.com/community/@steembasicincome/sbi-member-interview-featuring-enginewitty

(Edited)

I tried to give this a go, it was really fun to do a bit more research on colour and birds but I didn't include the black and whites, and may have not focused on the with or without element enough. I was more thinking about colour in my life and how colour is seen, so it may not be good enough but either way it was fun to do!

Really nice pictures! This is a very clever contest/challenge. I got pictures from the Philly meetup! Might use them.

Thanks for sharing on the #PYPT Show, Dude.

There is a lot of subtle differences in the greys, sometimes when I see old movies I can kind of guess the colour even if it's black and white... it's kind of strange but black and white also brings contrasts we kind of miss with the colours. But I'm all into colour, I dream in colour, I imagine in colours... though sometimes they become dim and silvery
