Imagine if Google bought Steemit?

With all the recent News about TRON buying Steemit I wonder what would happen if Google decided to buy Steemit?

Would the price spike to $100 ? or much higher ??

Then I was thinking... maybe it would just be better for Google to Buy up all the Steem sitting on the exchanges at . 13 cents then just announce a Cash Infusion to support the Steemit.com Blog Platform,

They would cause the price of Steem to skyrocket.

What do you think? Makes sense to me.

I know that if I had a Billion Dollars I would buy up all the Liquid Steem I could.... and then announce my support and backing for The Steem Blockchain and Steemit.com Social Network / platform

Maybe the owners of TikTok will invest in Steem ? A way for content creators to monetize their videos...

Be very afraid of that happening. You heard about TikTok banning people for being LGBT, right?

Edit: Here, check this out:

From what the video describes, it sounds like they're removing the people "most likely to be targets of bullying" or something along those lines. Scary stuff, imo...

Google would ruin steem, They would just use it to steal all your data and earn way more than you ever would haha

BTC is $7k+ USD today. You will find STEEM paired to BTC on most exchanges. What are you expecting exactly?

As much as people really tend to hate Google, I think it would be awesome. Not so much because the price would most definitely rise, but because it would then offer a fast and easy way for people to get on and use the platform. With just your Google account you would be able to use their SSO service and have quick and easy access to your STEEM account without having to worry about public keys and private keys, posting keys and active keys. It would really tear down a lot of the barriers that are facing non-technical users when it comes to blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Yeah... it took me forever to even figure out how to sign up. Spent a year trying.

What do you think?

The slow monthly sell off of STINC's stake, furthering decentralised distribution of stake, is more preferable to me.

OK - lets hope they sell everything off and we can get back to better days.

When will STINC finally be done selling off all their Steem? When will they finally have none at all? Soon I hope.

By "furthering decentralised distribution of stake" it was not meant that STINC will necessarily sell off all of their stake. There have been aspects of STINC (particularily when handled day to day by Ned) that have not been the best yet keep in mind that without them there would be no STEEM. 😎

If one's involvement in the STEEM project is primarily for rewards then STEEM's current price against fiat would be disheartening to be sure. If, however, it is the technology of the project that is one's primary interest, then at only about 3 1/2 years old it already the fastest, free transaction fee, scalable blockchain out there which should make such enthusiasts very excited.

Personally, my crypto investments are in Proof of Work. You know, that crypto that one need not worry who is minding the ledger. My excitement in the potential of blockchain development, however, is with STEEM. We need a low price if we are ever to have a middle class in STEEM'S ecosystem. MIRA has given us the software/hardware for that middle class to flourish. A low fiat to STEEM price will offer us a more distributed stake. Both these elements should ensure STEEM's lasting survival in my opinion.
