A Ladder for All Seasons!

I have heard the call of the masses who have said ladder time is long overdue! They are right.

I am the Beerologist. The jiu jitsu fighter, entrepreneur, hockey player, rock star, dad and......I am the Ladder Walker. That is some aggrandizement hopefully not worthy of an old-skool flag war.

One of the unique perspectives I get quite often is at the top of a ladder as a technical contractor specializing in installation of technical computer equipment. Cameras, wireless networking gear, and internet for business and home are a few of my favorite things. This brings me up a ladder to snap a neat pic from a unique perspective I can share on STEEM and tell an inane story about my small town. Pretty extreme and enthralling huh?

Truth is, I am not up a ladder as much lately for a couple reasons. The Internet Service Provider is apparently working on things other than new client acquisition, and I am working on other more lucrative and intellectual enterprises. Still, part of me is not looking towards the incoming winter no matter how snowy and bright the pictures will be for my followers.

The summer is nice. This town is dressed up for tourists and there are some pretty nice places to be. With green everywhere, sun shining, and warm temperatures, it can get a little hot in certain situations but I would pick summer for ladder walking.

Spring is not too bad and only awesome because the damn winter is over. The buds on the trees, receding snowbanks, and covered pools are a nice improvement over the blowing snow and sub zero temperatures. Lots of rain and thinking about summer.

Autumn is pretty damn good. Cooler than summer, nice colours on the trees, much better than the season to come for being outside and twisting tiny wires.

Pretty soon, you have winter. Not always bad as there are blue sunny and still days. Quite often though, you get up 18 feet higher, and that cold breeze gets a little stronger and more bitter. A little unkicked snow on the soul of your boot makes for interesting ladder climbs. Then, you have to get your fingers out to twist network cable into jacks and ends. That is definitely no fun. Maybe that is why I make the big bucks.

For my sake, I hope it stays slow for the winter, installations are on the nice days, and they are uneventful. For your sake, I hope there are some really interesting feats of bravery and triumph, and the nasty apartments are fewer than the places with twin farmers daughters...and beer.

You sure do have an interesting perspective up there. @zekepickleman. I like the views of your town from above. I could certainly never do it myself :)

Ah it is not as hard as it looks. I do see some interesting stuff from time to time and can at least share my winter escapades with the southern folk to make them happy they don't have snow!

Ladders and snow. No thanks. I used to not hate snow, and winter. I must be getting older.

It is a bit harder to find ways to enjoy the winter as you get older. Kids help that for sure.

(Edited)

Not much ladder time here, except for some brief pipe-fitting work last summer... Didn't stick around for long, more because of the 2nd hand smoke and crummy safety standards...

I can sense the discomfort in your post, I'm in a crazy spot in life as you know, too... Keep on keeping on, my man!!

Nah man I am in a really good spot. Just juggling different opportunities and feeling guilty about not being a good steemian in the last little bit. I know you can relate. Here for good .

Like you've told me, I think this is a culture that will welcome you back when YOU'RE ready... Even a serial Steem-slacker is still treated pretty well, although they may lose some Steem-cred :D

Ah it is not all that bad. Worst part is my jiu jitsu fingers when the get really cold are rather painful. Need me some really good gloves.
