Experiencing the Authenticity of the 4 Seasons. @ 42° 29′ 54′′N latitude / 75° 46′ 5′′ W longitude

The shear beauty of this Lilliputian piece of rock that mankind has been camping out on for some time now, offers so many variations of its splendor.

NASA's Curiosity rover captured the 1st ever photo of Earth, from the surface of the Red Planet, Mars.
This picture was taken only hours after the rover had landed on the surface of Mars, back on January 31, 2014.

The size of our home, which we refer to as Earth, disappears in the vastness of space.

If we look at it another way, as compared to a single grain of sand, tweezed from Earth's vast stock pile of these singular grains, the picture of our miniature status becomes very apparent.

While traveling in this boundless space, Earth does its thing.

While revolving around the sun once every year, and rotating completely around its axis every day, Mother Earth grants us the gloriousness of her existence by tilting on this imaginary line we call the axis of Earth.

The Earth's axis tilts approximately 23°27” from vertical. This tilt causes the Earth's seasonal changes. This tilt explains why the southern hemisphere experiences summer when the northern hemisphere endures winter. This tilt also explains why the hours of day and night change with distance from the equator.

For us, coexisting with Mother Nature at this exact location,42° 29′ 54′′N latitude / 75° 46′ 5′′ W longitude, on this tiny rock is precisely where I love resting my head at the end of every day.

It is here where you can truly experience all four seasons, winter, spring summer and fall.

It is here where every season is so different from the next, with every new year starting out with winter.

As all life is anew, with the northern hemisphere gradual pointing itself parallel to the sun, the summer solstice approaches. The lazy days of summer are here. Summer brings on a whole new and exciting array of activities and beauty.

As the days of summer wain, with the Autumnal Equinox fast approaching, things once again change in so many ways.
At this point on our journey orbiting the sun, while riding on the back of Earth, the Autumnal Equinox will bring some of us who live in the latitudes nearest the equator, an almost equal amount of daylight and darkness.
At my latitude, scenes of luscious green vegetation are about to display colors long dormant.
Slight indicators will tell us that fall is approaching.

When Autumn arrives, it does so in majestic ways.

Along with Mother nature, we change as well.

The changing seasons keep us on our toes, and adds a spice to our lives that would be hard to get almost anywhere else.

Every change of season brings on new challenges and responsibilities.

Life @ 42° 29′ 54′′N latitude / 75° 46′ 5′′ W longitude just suits us fine!

Makes a person think about how small and insignificant we are as people, and indeed, as a planet, within the grand scheme of things. The tree popping out of those ferns is my favourite photo. Thanks for sharing.

If more people looked at their existence in this way, just possible the world would be a more peaceful place.
One's ego can be put into check when viewing life through these glasses.
Thanks for the reply, it is greatly appreciated @galenkp

What a beautiful sense of perspective you have captured... of seasonal change on the micro but imperceptible when seen from afar. It made me want to sing with gratitude for all we have. And resolved to find out what my actual latitude and longitude currently are... LOL... something I have NEVER even thought about.

A view of Earth from this perspective sure does let us know just how insignificant we are in the big picture. Thanks for the reply @artemislives, and a big thanks to @ecotrain and @eco-alex for taking time out of your day to manually curate this post.

What an unusual perspective. You certainly remind us how really small and insignificant we are in the big picture.
But what a beautiful place to live, especially with the glory of all four seasons.
Nice pictures!

Even when I don’t have any, I make time when my account notifies me I upvoted an article by my man. Have you seen Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot? You’re probably more familiar with him that I am.

The third image up from the bottom with the fluorescent green, a yellow, and one burgundy trees amongst a first of dead leaves—favorite one (I think).

Alright, gotta go man, bus leaves (not like the kind I referred to just now but as in “departs”) in 45 minutes.

Blessings to everyone you know and don’t know.

Taking the time to reply to this post while you guys are smack in the middle of such an adventure says a lot, thanks my friend

This epic excursion to see Bethlehem, Jericho and Ramallah should be eye opening.

Thanks for the link to the Pale Blue Dot. I have never seen that clip. This one line, "Our planet is a lonely speck in the enveloping cosmic dark", gave me chills.

Enjoy your journey and soak in every morsel of this experience @dandays.

Stay safe!
