Three policeman candidates

At the police station three applicants are to be tested. For this purpose they are to recognize a suspicious person by a picture.

The policeman shows the first candidate a picture, puts it away again and asks how he would recognize the suspect. The candidate says that the suspect would be caught quickly because he has only one eye and is therefore easily recognizable.

The policeman is not enthusiastic and explains that the suspect in the picture has only one eye, because only his lateral profile is shown.

So he shows the picture to the second candidate. He smiles and says that he quickly would recognize the suspect because he only has one ear.
The policeman is a bit annoyed and explains that the suspect in the photo has only one eye and one ear because it is a side profile.

So he shows the picture to the third candidate and warns him to give an equally stupid answer.

The third candidate looks closely at the picture and answers that he would recognize the suspect by the contact lens. The policeman is a bit speechless and checks the file. Impressed by the correct observation he asks the candidate how he could see it. The candidate answers: That's easy. He cannot wear normal glasses because he only has one eye and one ear.
