Not a Post About Cub

avatar

Well hello wonderful people and welcome to another potential disaster of a post produced by your most excellent host, @NoNamesLeftToUse The Writer/Artist Himself!

NoNamesLeftToUse - You're Finished.jpeg

I see you!

And damn!  You folks make browsing content a royal pain in the ass some days/weeks.

I finally get some time to chillax with my chain gang after another long-ass hiatus.  I'm excited; I'm pumped; I'm happy to see you.  A few days later and all I'm seeing is some newfangled contraption, some kind of a trippy cult form around it, then post after goddamn post all chanting the same thing.

You can relax though.  I'm happy for you folks if you're happy.  I mean that; but for the rest of the post I'm going to continue fucking around.

Some might be wondering why I haven't pledged my allegiance, or whatever.

"What's going on here NoNames?  Are you not one of us?  Think you're too cool for 'massive profits' and all that?  You got your tickets and you're supposed jump on the bandwagon with us or get left behind.  Are you sure you want that?  Do we have to hold you down and teach you how to crypto, the hard way?  Don't say we didn't try to help when we're all lambo and you're all lebaron convertible.  Hundreds of posts about it wasn't enough?  Dude announces 30k and you're still not sold?"

Fuck no.  Write a hundred more and spend 100k.

Rub it in until it burns!

I like pain.

NoNamesLeftToUse - This Mirror Looks Cool.jpeg

Anyway...

Those who are closest to me here and the many more who simply follow along — watching my every move — may have noticed a trend over the years.

Here one minute.  Gone the next.

The account known as me goes completely silent.  No posts; no comments; no votes.

When I leave, often a huge chunk of that time is spent offline.  Completely off.  No connection to the rest of the world.  Just me, the goddamn walls, and maybe some nature.  I do the thing so many say is impossible.  I live without internet sometimes and other times when a connection is available, if I'm in Gone Mode, that means social media stays far away from me until I decide it's time to relapse and become a fully fledged addict again.

How many times have you this is not financial advice financial experts around here lost your shirt (or at least a sock) in your sleep?  It happens, right?

Now imagine how things would be going for you if you had to spend a week, two weeks, two months, away from the internet.

Are you going to be jumping in on everything fashionable in crypto knowing full well you might not be able to pull the trigger when it's time to shoot?

Fuck no.

I've passed on plenty of the don't risk more than you can afford to lose 'opportunities' over the years.  Probably all of them.

Been in this game a long time.  I've seen hype trains get hyped and still can't seem to commit.  Most likely because I don't want to, plus I'm the sales pitch's worst nightmare.

"New and improved" written on a jug of Tide doesn't impress me.  If you want to be soap, you should've known how to be soap to begin with.  Not dick around for decades, ripping people off, then finally decide to get your act together.

That's how I'm wired.  It's insane.  If those assholes over at Youtube decide to interrupt my regularly scheduled programming just so some bottom shelf bargain influencer can tell me how much money they made this month working from the comfort of their own gaming chair, I'm not listening to their words.  I'm studying body language and looking for that classic head shaking in the direction of NO as they spit out the next line of bullshit.  That's my entertainment right there.

"My mind's telling you YES!  But my body!  My body's telling you NO HO HO!"

But I digress...

As a matter of fact, I don't even know how this post turned into this mess; but I have great idea for an opening line now.

So many opportunities.  I'm an actual digital artist and I'm not even involved in the NFT craze yet.  Could have made sixty million and some change by now, easily....

And in case you're wondering, yes, there will come a time this entity dabbles in selling some work.  @NoNamesLeftToUse is exclusive to Hive and always will be, I'll price everything way out of your league, some sucker will show up to buy, and you all can thank me later.

I'm just kidding.  Kind of.

Finance/investing; not really my thing.  Business is something I enjoy though.  Right now I feel the foundation is a bit shaky.  I could be wrong, and that's fine.  I could go out and grab some short term gains but... I'll just keep my plans to myself.

Earning crypto by producing digital art is nothing new to me.  I've been literally (people say that way too much these days) doing just that since 2016.

I knew, since day one, art and crypto would gel.  There was no fucking way around it.  Bound to happen.  People thought I was crazy; whatever.  I'm a pioneer in this industry.  That doesn't mean I think I'm anything great and you should all bow down or some shit.  It's just a little something I get to feel good about.

If more people in the industry would have noticed, back in the day, my efforts creating and presenting digital art on this platform led to an account value worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, this art meets crypto craze we're seeing today would have happened a lot sooner.

I wasn't kidding when I wrote posts talking about generating billions by embracing the consumer and their desire to spend money on arts and entertainment.

It's not going to go away, and now you'll actually get to see the billions.

I'm done yapping.

Have a nice day.

Touch my cubs.

Touch em.

Now tell me they ain't real. I just spent forty bucks on meat for the damn things and they're still hungry.

It's like an episode of the Hungry Caterpillar but with lions.

Nah, don't worry, all the furore will be over soon and it will be something else. Fuck the gains keep the art!

Some of us have lived through new, improved, lemon-scented, pine-scented, and fresh, and recognize that citrus-scented is just lemon again.

I have to admit it, my feed is much more boring when you don't post. Is relieving to see that someone didn't wrote about Cub again.

If I could post daily again, I would. Mostly trying to browse the feeds, trying to find some kind of entertainment, trying to find reasons to vote.

Take it easy, I'm trying to enjoy to be here, if there is something stressing in the world is to try to satisfy others expectations.

That's mostly why I don't write anything here, I'm not able to fullfill even the expectations about myself.

There is a reason why still are lotsa peps jogging the web and enjoying doing a helluva of cool shit everywhere out there barely using the ancient tools on a vintage Windows Seven box you know?

As for the NFTs... Yeh yeh yeh, Let's start to NFTing!!

I like those two eye choices, the first set seem to be For fucks sake" eye's, pissed/ticked at seeing some stupidity. just my take, the second set like a puppy wondering did I do right, I think I did right, but I'm not sure I did right. Nice to see some the work and read the words while I think about the pictures.

It's like to see a g string in a baboon as an nft.

Here we go again, hope he don't find one in Google. But if it's Google it exists.

Gah only found this... And am not going to be wearing one just so I can pay a baboon in a g string.

I had no idea what to do with the cub I ended up with so I swapsied it with Taraz (who did know what to do with it) for some hive (which I know what to do with XD).

And I'm back to being ignoramus about that kind of stuff again x_x

I love the second picture!

nicknamed it Blep as soon as I saw it sorry XD

Did you have a good offline period? And have you managed to find stuff that's not cub related to look at today? :D

It was an interesting onboarding technique, to say the least. And many of the posts/advertisements included words like 'easy' and 'I'm happy I did it.' Gotta love it.

Blep works. The working title was, This Mirror Looks Cool. I'm sure that made sense at the time.

I did have a good break but not good enough to have an endless supply of stories to share. I slept outside in a snow shelter a couple times, so that was kinda cool and unique. A lot of wake up, eat, and shit, too. Uneventful.

Browsing content is always a chore but when you find those little hidden gems, they mean that much more.

I'd like to live in a totally unplugged world again...I mean no internet. I'd go as far as saying no power, but that's just my extreme nature talking. It's good to see someone values unplugging.

No power is a tough one to pull off. Especially in winter. The modern offgrid approach to living appeals to me though. I'd have to leave Canada though in order to make that work on a more permanent basis. Been thinking about it for awhile.

Yep, I know it gets could up there...I watch a few documentaries on it. Here in Australia though it would be relatively simple although the heat can also be a factor. I guess I'm just an analogue sort of guy; One who works with his hands, knows how to, and values those skills more than knowing what button to press on the interwebs or what any of the Kardashians and their ilk are up to.

I'll be honest, I long for that simplicity but fear I shall never find it.

Heat is nice, within reason. I've been living in Mexico for the past year. We have grid power which is mostly stable but the land that we are building on doesn't and our plan is to use solar or other non-grid power such as a bicycle powered generator; I'm kidding about that, maybe. This will be set up in the community kitchen. It's likely that a lot of people will choose to have no wired power at all in their homes/sleeping spaces. It's much more healthy and when you are living in nature it's pretty easy to just use a small rechargeable light. This type of life is definitely possible in a climate that won't freeze you to death in a few hours.

I've not been online much. It's good to see you hanging in there. You are going to really crush the NFT scene if you want to.

Solar and battery storage has come a long way. There's also home biogas collectors now that seem feasible. Put your literal crap in there, along with scraps and apparently a small backyard unit can generate three hours worth of daily fuel to burn. Something like that won't work in the cold though, of course. Indoor lighting doesn't need to be wired into the walls, that's true. Plenty of solar options now that can be carried around, placed anywhere when needed. Wood heat works fine but the issue there is having enough fuel to burn, plus keeping the fire going while you sleep. Even a small home in Canada can burn through a small forest every winter.

Good to see you as well!

Being able to live without the Internet for days. This will become so rare that a case study might be done decades from now for those who can live without it. In a world where so many carry their internet intravenous supplement with them, this is one refreshing act to do. To detach and be normal. Like people were. Able to go to sleep without checking who is checking.
There will always be another hype and another hype. I find this thing of trying to maintain the rythm absolutely draining. This is why those who are visionaries ahead of time have no stress about missing the hype. But how many people have a vision for the future decades from now? Who can see beyond the screen, the filters, the votes, the rewards? And, most importantly, who is paying attention to what is he becoming in the pursuit for validation?
Few can stay alone with their thoughts. They need distraction. Internet is the perfect pill.

Funny you mention sleep. That's the first thing I lost once I came back! I'd go to bed early and wake up early. Now I'm doing the two sleeps a day thing. Short spurts with sudden wakes. A lot more chatter inside the mind as well; harder to focus. I won't say it's a disaster. Both versions of life are worth living, sometimes.

"Act now." "Do not delay." People feeling like they'll miss out. Winners/losers. Competition. The cheerleading/fans. I can see why it's all so hard for some folks to walk away from. Everything one has now feels like nothing when compared to the next big thing. All sense of accomplishment in the past is diminished. Once one starts chasing that feeling again, it does become that perfect pill. It does not get you high, it gets you hooked. Life is like that in general, as well.

Yes, it creates addiction. People get online to get their fix. Is it what we are doing now? Haha. At the basics of this addiction is the human need to connect and a bit of voyeurism. Social media speculated this and took it to another level so that now addiction looks like the norm. I can still remember how odd people reacted if you didn't have FB years ago. Funny right. Like if you don't have an online presence you do not exist. I don't think there is a more alienating environment than this, sadly
Time off and sleep are super important. After I have read Matthew Walkers's book Why we sleep I really take good care of my sleep routine. Life passes by anyway, so better spend 1 hour on yourself than for external validation. Because if you die tomorrow, the world will go on fine without you. And this is a hell of a good reason to realize how being still and enjoying silence, nature and being yourself is important.

I feel most of the times like a weird human, hard to understand. But I embrace it. I like a conversation that sparks my mind. It doesn't happen often though. It must be from the fact that I was with my nose in books since I was a kid. So I lack small talk skills. But a conversation about something more than mere existence... Yes... 😍I am glad I have the opportunity here to bump into some lovely minds. I would sit and pick and admire a pretty mind anytime. Consider yourself picked cherry tomato cub artist future nft non nft genius haha

That's how I feel too. Weird and misunderstood. Small talk can be useful but I often either say nothing, or too much. No filter. And the more I do it, the less I feel bothered.

Sometimes it is better to say nothing than to just make noise. I think that one of the most comforting feeling is the ability to share the silence with someone.

Aww tomato art, this is lovely hahhaha. I thought about an appropriate nickname for you after the small conversation, morecherrieslefttopick hahha. Groovy looking art, you must have felt fabulous doing it

I agree, your art is worth milions if not bilions. I would pay, but i dont have this much money. Its exciting to see you share your art here with us again. Its like you all disappeared from steemit and now old times are coming back. I just found out about this hive blog and to see you making milions makes me realy happy. I just hope Im not the guy getting strangled by yours and @meesterboom's hands.
Btw: was it you and @meesterboom on this short video at donut shop?

I have not seen you in a very long time. We did vanish from the other place. Basically just picked it up and moved here. It's the same but far different, and way more productive. I haven't been posting much though, for several solid reasons, but it's all good. Millions. Billions. Man it's all the same. I just look forward to a happy and productive life someday. And no that wasn't us in the video. That's a clip from Big Money Hustlas. Some folks around here will get the ape reference. Kind of an inside joke. Good to see you.
