The demolished house

I saw this house get demolished the other day. It was a bungalow in my neighborhood somewhere which had an excellent location, but I never saw any activity in there. I was always wondering if someone was living in there, or if it was from someone who had maybe recently died or so, and the kids didn't have any time as yet to sell the house. I passed it nearly every day and these kinds of places always make the imagination having over time.

But all of a sudden there was movement. There was this big ass bulldozer who literally was knocking down the house. And I mean knocking over. When I passed the house again later on during the day half of the house was already flat. And carried into a container which would offload the debris.

A family was watching what was happening with a smile on their faces.

I asked if this was going to be their new place, and with gigantic smiles they confirmed this. This was going to be their nice little secret and it was going to turn into a fantastic new place.

Now I have just moved recently, and I am still very busy with all kinds of small details and renovations around the house. And they aren't even big ones, just small improvement and pimping it all up a little bit.

The amount of times which I have been into the construction place already to buy something stupid and small like a screw, or tape, or sandpaper or whatever are already countless. Building something and making it perfect is a lot of work and takes a crapload of effort.

Demolishing something on the other hand. That is so much easier than you would actually want. It doesn't even have to be intentional. Ruining something, anything actually.....a reputation, a relationship, an oppertunity, an account, a whatever that is done without the effort of a heartbeat.

Maybe society even. It takes a ton of effort to get a decent functioning community or society or working spot, but you just need a few rotten apples to run everything to the ground again. I think we should try to remember this when you have the feeling in this insecure times that your society is crumbling. It is a ton of work to get your project going, but shutting it off is done in the blink of an eye.

Just don't blink and keep building.

I get these dudes! Starting blank slate looked way easier than rebuilding than model!
