Has Anyone Ever Tried to Con You?

A long time ago I guess over twenty years I was asked by a friend of mine to help him out as a guarantor for a loan at some credit coop that had been set up a few months back. He needed the money, which really wasn't much because he was starting a small business and needed money for the raw material.

I have never been to keen on doing this kind of thing but my friend was very insistent and to get him off my back I finally acceded, he needed two guarantors and the loan was for about $1,000.00 so I figured in the worst scenario I wouldn't lose that much. I still had misgivings but this guy was calling me several times a day and I was just about sick of it.

So I finally went with him to the financial institution's office, which was quite seedy and gloomy, I signed what I had to sign and my friend told me don't worry you won't hear about this again as I plan to have this paid off in a couple of months. Well about three months later I got a call from the financial institution telling me I had until that day to pay the first installment or I was going to be hit by some heavy interests.

I got really mad and went to that office, there was only one guy there and I asked him in not too easy words what the fuck was wrong, and he told me that no, it was a mistake the installment had already been paid. This of course left me kind of uneasy and I was already thinking this might be a con job. Well about three months later I again received a call from these guys, no more money had been paid on the loan and I had to pay all money still owed plus a lot of interests.

Now I have a very short temper I nearly ran to that office, and there were two guys who told me I would be in legal problems if I didn't pay that week, so I asked them but there is another person who served a s a guarantee why isn't that person also being called? And they told that was none of my business.

Well I already told you I have a very short temper, so I pushed the big fat guy against the wall and I told him, look this is the last time I ever want to hear from you in my life if you talk to me again you better just disappear from here because I'm going to fuck you. Well incredibly these two guys just cowered down and said that they would see what was happening.

I never heard from them again, and when I saw my friend whom I hadn't seen for quite a while he told me that any money I had paid he would give it back to me that he had run through some bad luck, of course I had never paid a single dime. Somehow I think this was a badly played scam, my friend was in on it and luckily I was able to scare the shit out of those two guys.

I learned this kind of actions from my Dad who I saw beat the shit out of several people who were trying to put one up on him, in fact he was deaf and couldn't speak good Spanish I think he beat up some people who weren't even trying to take advantage of him.
