6 Year Old, Cub Scout Den Leader: November 20 2019

He is 6! Yesterday was my oldest’s birthday for which he was quite excited. I took him to school and dropped off a couple dozen mini cup cakes for the class at the office. His class is about 22 kids on a full day so we figured the 2 dozen would work perfect. Being mini cup cakes helped even better since these are 5 and 6 year olds who don’t NEED more sugar.

I kept myself busy during the day working on his room. It takes a good bit of work to shuffle everything around and find places for stuff that I haven’t seen or thought of in years. So far I think I have my plan down but it is such an “in flux” type of situation so I kind of just hope that the idea I have will eventually pan out.

It is going to be pretty easy for his bed since all I am doing is cutting the height down and moving it. I have his bed set at about 4.5 feet off the ground since his brother has slept beneath him in the crib. I needed the height to get the crib structure in which has worked nicely and gave us the most floor space possible for the small room. Now the bed will only be about 2.5 feet off the floor and will have enough room for a couple of stacked crates to fit under it. I will build a matching bed for the youngest soon, once we get his new mattress.

After J got home from school he got to use his chromebook for a while until @stryeyz brought dinner home after she got off work. After eating we left the little one with grammy and took J to his Cub Scout meeting. We took another couple dozen mini cup cakes for the meeting and another den leader brought some cookies.

I am now the Lion Den Leader for the pack. We have no meeting next week so I will be taking over the den December 4th. I have to look at what I want to do for the meeting. I have ideas for a little later after the new year for the pack, but I need to make sure to have the weekly meeting activity setup and prepared.

Today I am going to be try to get his bed cut down moved over. I have the cabinets mounted to the wall already, so now just the shuffle and move... maybe. We will see what I can get done.
