Time For Jury Service Again 4.25.2021

The last time I got a jury summons was back in January of 2019. That was the first time I was a juror in the new court house. I remember usually parking at a garage that was near the court house, but this time it was full. I actually didn't know the other alternate parking places.

I looked on the directions and would find another place to park, then that was full. I decided to find the parking place that was farthest away from the court house, but can still get the free parking with the stamp.

That is what I did and I had to go all the way to the rooftop to park. Once I got walking on the street it was easy to see which way to go since the new court house was the tallest building in the area. So I would just keep my eyes on the big building and go toward it. I thought I was late and I guess I was, but they had a seat for me in the jurors box.

Yes, the last time I answered the summons, was the last time I was a juror.

This time I am just going straight to the farthest parking lot allowed for jurors, that way I know there will be parking for me and it would be good to walk, for my health that is.

That is even if I get picked at all. But if I do get picked I hope I am not an alternate. One time when the old court house was still being used I was an alternate. That means that I was alternate to them of the juror box. I had to hear all the witnesses and be with the jurors, but during the deliberations, I was told to go home and I could not deliberate with the jurors.

Well, to listen to all the witnesses for weeks and then not knowing the outcome was frustrating for me. I just got a thank you for your service, we really appreciate you, now give us your badge and go home. Well, if I am going to have to listen through weeks of witnesses I want to see the thing to the conclusion.

I found that the best type of juror for me was being on a grand jury. This was at the old court house also. I would hear not from just one case, but a lot of cases. I thought that was the most fun. We decided if the case was going to trial or not. Less pressure.

Wouldn't mind being on a grand jury again. The court clerks even told us that more people would like to do what we do instead of a trial juror. Well, I found it was like they said.

So I have to show up to the summons, if they pick me, they pick me and I will be a juror. I have to show up in the last week in May of this year.

Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, I am the vine, ye the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5.
