PG&E Came To My Mom's Door 5.31.2021

This was about a week ago. I was arriving at my mom's to help feed her feral cats. Yes, my mom likes to feed the feral cats that hang out in my mom's backyard porch and some in her front yard porch.

Well anyway, my mom was visiting my sister and her husband in another city more than an hour's drive away.

So as I was getting out of my car, my 89 Nissan Sentra, I noticed a PG&E truck parked in front of my mom's house. A PG&E guy was walking beside the house and then toward me.

He told me that he left a note that he needed to work on the gas meter, as back in 2008 when a new air conditioner/heater was put on the top of the roof, when they connected the gas, they used the extension that the PG&E people were to use.

So I found out that if they needed to use an extension from the meter they also had to leave another extension for the PG&E people to use to test the gas line.

I told the guy, maybe the guy working on putting up the air conditioner/heater didn't know code enough to do that. Well, people do mickey mouse a lot of things when it comes to houses.

So anyway he wanted to work on the meter, but if he did he would have to light the pilot again for the water heater, as he would have the cut the gas, while he is working on it.

I asked him how many hours would it take to do this work on the gas line. He told me that it would take less than an hour. So I told him to go ahead and do it, as I would be watching. He didn't care if I would be watching him.

So here are some pictures of things that were done. I forgot to take a picture right before he started, but I have these pictures.

The black pipe is the one going up to the air conditioner/heater.

This is the unconnected meter sitting all by itself.

This is the finished product and now you see there is a way for the PG&E person to test the gas line post gas meter.

Well the guy did it in less than an hour and I brought him into the house so he can go and light the water heater.

Then I thanked him for his service and he went away and I went to go and feed mom's feral cats.

Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Matthew 5:41.
