Craft Cramming & Headbands

Headbands....

It started off as a practice run before I started making the cot bumpers but it's become a bit of an obsession lately.

For the most part they're pretty quick to do as long as I didn't get too fancy with it and I'm also learning things as I go.

Like which materials are best suited to make certain types of headbands or headbands/scarf.

I also figured out that it's best if I sewed the borders first that way the edges look neater and that proportion is important.

I made three headbands today and I was only happy with the first one I did this morning, which was the simplest and quickest one ~ the plaid one Bella's wearing.

The material is so soft and light it fit her head nicely whereas the other ones were made from thicker material and they were rigid like it had cardboard lining.

Today's headband lesson?

Different materials are suited for certain types of headbands/headscarves.

Always sew the borders first.

Abundance Candles

Did you know green candles are used for luck, money, success & prosperity?

I've been meaning to make abundance candles for myself and tonight was the night to do it.

It's been tough trying to find time to experiment with candles. I'm so exhausted by night time that I'm pretty much a zombie. Tonight wasn't any different, I just pushed myself to get these done because.

  1. I needed to make candles for consignment.
  2. I'm in the process of putting more orgonites for sale and need these candles to work their magic.

Otherwise I could have waited a few more days and would have spent time working on the cot bumper instead.

This is kind of my life atm.

Craft cramming and prioritizing which one to do depending on the amount of time I have....

.... When all I want to do is sleep.

.... Back to the candles ....

These are proving to be much more difficult to work out.

If I took the scent out and focused on the colour/intention then it's easy. But because I refuse to use fragrance it's hard to find nice essential oil blends that are cost efficient.

No matter what I can't use fragrance. I refuse to use it especially now with Bella around.

What to do?

Personally I'm happy with just the colour but that's just me.

What do you guys think? Is a candle worth buying without the scent?

Hard and expensive ~ Yeh it is 🤦🏻‍♀️
And definitely stuck on the ethics part. I really, REALLY, don't want to go down the fragrance part so I'm kinda stuck trialling essential oil blends which, back to point, is expensive, especially when I need to use double the amount for scent throw. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Awww thanks love!

Are you back home yet? ❤

Yes, back home! Had two weeks quarantine hell, but been out for a week and almost back to normal.

The price is pretty rough. I've always wondered about how you work out price per drop, and how many drops are in a bottle or blend - as the initial outlay is alot, but maybe it works out okay in the end? and then it's MAKING the scent and getting that right too....

Hurrah!!!! 🎉🥂

Yeh it is! Really gotta hunt around for suppliers with good quality oil without the price tag to keep prices down.

Unit Price Calculator

I calculate price per ml so pretty much break down how much per bottle is inc shipping

Buying bulk is always better but it's a commitment. Gotta be sure you're gonna use it one way or another :D
