Have you noticed that when one dog howls they all do. It is a communication system they have - a contagious dog thing they do, lol.

It is an irresistible thing. Neither of my dogs can howl worth a darn, so instead they let out systematic barks. I like the depiction in 101 Dalmations as "The Twilight Bark" for the purpose of transferring important messages.
