Do you setup a tripod next to the fower or shoot freehand?

I take most of my pictures with a tripod. I seldom get high quality pictures out of my hand.
Hi, i not use tripod since the insect will fly for sure. Thats why my shots is not as sharp as yours :( to compensate i do use external flash and 1/250s. Plus the gear too dictates the quality of the shot. I think i have done the best for my gear with handheld and to get a better shot. i will try tripod soon.
Freehand and the use of a tripod requires a completely different approach to macro photography. I feel exactly the opposite, I couldn't make friends with a flash yet. But the technology continues to progress and I want to test it again in the future. Good luck with the tripod!
I agree. :) dslr + flash is heavy. when i started most of my shots came out blur :(
now maybe i get a 50/50 chance. Thanks
