Reminder To Backup MetaMask
If you're new to MetaMask or just the whole managing your own keys thing in general and have put in more than you can bear to lose, then this a friendly reminder to backup your MetaMask account and wallet so that you can load it in another browser.
There are two components to it.
Export you account's private key. Click the three dots and then on 'Account Details'. Then click on 'Export Private Key'.
Click on your display picture and then on Settings. Go to security and privacy and then click on 'Reveal Seed Phrase'. Save the seed phrase somewhere secure.
Congratulations. You have backed up your MetaMask account and wallet. If you have a spare laptop, i'd encourage you to test it out by importing your account.
Shit happens when you least expect it. Better back it up early!
Very afraid many people won't do this early enough (really should do it right away no matter how much the wallet holds) and will lose a lot eventually. Do you only store in a physical place or also digital in a protected place? Afraid I will lose a piece of paper.. it can fade or burn or just get lost!

That's true about the fading or getting lost. Ideally, you'd do both. You would also need to keep them both secure because if someone untrustworthy finds your paper or file with the details then they could restore your wallet on their laptop.
Yeah no matter the option you go with always protect it from the untrustworthy, actually putting it in a safe that's fire proof might be a good solution.

Yes, best to store in a couple of secure places. The other problem to worry about is people stealing your account. So need to make sure your secure places are truly secure.
