CEO - A Good Job If You Can Get It

I started my career in GE and it still does hold a special place in my heart. Not to mention that I have a bunch of stock from my time there, so I do track the price from time to time.

5 Year Share Price

The share price has collapsed in the last five years. From a price in the mid-30s, it went as low as $5-$6. A lot of it was down to the house of cards built by Jack Welch and Jeff Immelt imploding.

Enter Larry

For the first time in a long time, GE has an outsider CEO and let me start by saying he has been making all the right moves. He has also been paid handsomely for it - $71 million in shares.

But here's the thing. Almost anyone, even the most junior analyst who left the company, could have told you the right moves to make. Just that they don't get compensated anywhere near even a million dollars.
