Several Regions Look At Reversing Reopen Plans

They've already had things turned around in California, after businesses and people moved ahead with the reopening plans for COVID-19. And other regions are considering the same.

There is plenty of fear about a second wave with more trouble to follow and a lingering worry that rushing back to normal too quickly many find might make things worse; it might be too much of a risk. But for others, they are eager to start their business back up, to visit friends, to support local businesses etc.

Some regions like Miami, Houston, and other areas, might also be looking to reverse their own reopen plans and close things down once again.

But how much more can the people and the market endure? It is foolish to rush into closing everything down because of this virus or others that might follow. Shutting things down isn't a solid resolution because it cannot go on for very long without tremendous consequences. Not only would it cause a deterioration to the standard of living for many, but it also inhibits the ability of the market and individuals within it to respond to the problem.

We witnessed this to be the case when some businesses wanted to rapidly switch to producing highly valuable goods that were needed around the world back in the beginning of the year, such as hand sanitizer, but they had to jump through violent regulatory hoops before being able to serve others.

Some daring individuals even elected to reopen their business despite threats of fines and jail if they did just that.

Despite the mistakes that might have been made along the way, we aren't likely to hear any accountability or apologies coming from politicians. They of course didn't seem to miss out on the chance to jump at a power grab during all of this, with the various restrictions that were broadly enforced which violated natural rights for millions.

For businesses that should never have been closed in the first place, many have just recently started to move forward with reopen phases. That means spending money, making plans, hiring new people etc. And all of that can come to a sudden halt if the state so chooses that they want to reverse their reopening edicts.

We can go about business and still maintain social distancing if we choose, or wear a mask if we choose, and it seems to have done a lot more harm than good with the lockdowns that have already been put into place. They could have cost lives in more ways than we currently realize.

Another lockdown after reopening would mean more damage being inflicted upon the people.

And they are already suffering, how much more should they take? The concept of freedom is clearly very fragile and at the risk of being easily destroyed anytime the state wants to issue one executive order or another.

it's too bad the businesses don't take matters into their own hands and search out a common law remedy - they have no balls though - I see businesses just going under rather than standing up - it's quite sad, but predictable - we would not be in the situation we are in now if people had balls.
