Microsoft will launch the biggest update the taskbar has seen in years, an optional widget, that shows news, the weather and other info. After almost three months of test, it is ready to be integrated in Windows 10.

The news feed can be configured according to your preferences, the user can choose to see only the news from the categories he choose, and of course, the weather will be displayed for your location.

The widget will use Microsoft News, the news service of Microsoft. They say it uses 4500 sources and uses A.I. to learn what subjects are relevant to the user, to create a relevant feed.

The good part is that the new widget is fully optional, and can be as easly activated and deactivated.

The widget already started appearing to the users that installed the update for April. As usually, the implementation is being done in stages, and in the next weeks all users will have access to it.

They have been trying to add a lot of new features to windows. Widgets like this will definitely make windows more attractive and useful. I like to keep an eye on news and this will definitely help with that.

Usually Microsoft adds unnecessary thing to their OS, but this I think will be a good addon.
