Talk About Mainstream...

I have become increasingly paranoid from emails which has even led me to change all email accounts over time despite having them for decades. So you can imagine my reaction when I saw an email from Chipotle called "Burritos or Bitcoin!" I click very carefully to see about this marketing campaign they setup for National Burrito Day a couple of weeks ago. To my surprise it was a legit campaign to give away bitcoin! The marketing got me thinking of how far bitcoin and crypto has come to become this mainstream.

I am not sure it can get more mainstream and from such a iconic brand which itself has come from a very engaged and committed community. These are the opportunities that make the long term for Blockchain and Cryptocurrency very encouraging as these types of activities lead to interest which lead to knowledge and ultimately adoption. Given the still relatively small portion of the general population that hold something within the new asset class, the growth potential is huge in my opinion.

There is a growing list of brands and companies which will seek to engage with the Crypto community given their increasing access to spending power. However, it will ultimately lead to improvements in additional adoption for others with no access. Given that the unbanked population around the world continues to be larger than those with balances in crypto, the mainstream adoption trend has no sign of slowing down which could mean a longer cycle of positive price action for the crypto asset class.
